Doctor Who

It’s just... boring. I gave up about 2/3rds of the way through the episode because I just didn’t care. They’ve done a fantastic job of making me care so little about the companions that anything that tried to play on my emotions for them just grates.

I don’t know what has happened to TV in the past few years but they seem to have forgotten how to organically create likeable characters. Star Trek suffers from the same issue. The writers think that having characters constantly talk about their feelings and crying will make you care about them. You have to like characters to care about them.

It’s really simple, show don’t tell. Show us how they are struggling, show us how they are being affected, stop just having characters talk about their emotions. How many good characters in TV are constantly talking about their emotions. It cheapens it.

doctor who companions is like east enders with a tardis

they should add the boom boom boom thingy to the end of doctor who episodes

I like how the Dalek that "geeky guy" brought back to life was inside a pc case. :D

And according to the "dr" the "sas daleks" don't care about humans, but the instant they see one they're shouting exterminate. 0_o

Typical BBC **** done on the cheap. For a start, how come this huge tech firm, that supposedly is meant to be akin to Apple or Microsoft, only seems to have the one employee and a load of empty office buildings?

"you are ten months late" dur... he has a time machine.
Stop the geeky guy from creating a back-hugger.... er ... could we use the time machine again?

Yup, was thinking that at the start if she can use it to go back to arrive earlier why can't she use it to stop the Daleks being re-made on Earth? Suppose technically that is a question that can be made about just every storyline when a Time Machine is to hand. There's probably been some elaborate reason for it in the past i suppose.

I stopped watching after that. Just like Voyager in the first episode. This is the way to get home. Nope. it would break the rules and spoil the series.

It was not the worst xmas special that's for sure.
I Stopped as soon as it had the sex change. I just watch HeelVsbabyface and the like to tell me it was garbage without having to see it for myself.
Yeah I wouldn't do that. That amplify everything by a thousand and give you a really warped sense of reality. Plus az is a massive shouty hypocrite knob.

I used to love Dr Who but gave up shortly after Capaldi came in as the stories were terrible (despite PC's best efforts). The Whittaker stuff doesn't interest me at all, again because of story choices and poor characters.
But, IMO, the real problem is that it's the Daleks yet again. It just seems that all invention and creativity has gone out of the window

I’ve watched Dr Who since Tom Baker and it has always been priority viewing. Tom Bakers death and transformation and Remembrance of the Daley’s really stick in my mind. I watched the new series but began losing faith during Matt Smiths tenure less him than the plots that were solved by hugs and kisses every other week. Capaldi had a few uptick stories. But I couldn’t make it through season 1 of Jodie’s run it was such dross. I don’t think I even bothered recording season 2. I feel bad for her she is a good actress but the latest series seems to have been dreadful and I’ve heard nothing positive since I tapped out. Shame how they’re treating one of their marque IP’s.
