Yeah, I have never understood why people love them. They are the the worst thing in the galaxy and yet are the most comically awful creation if that was your goal. Can’t hit the back end of a barn door, move slowly, aren’t very bright etc

They are suggesting Richard Ayoade might be in contention. I can’t see it myself. I haven’t seen him in anything where he wasn’t plying himself but more extreme and that doesn’t suit the doctor role.

Not sure who would be good if you wanted to cast a black British actor. Any I could think of probably are too big for the role.

  • Michaela Coelho 5/1- the black British actress is the frontrunner to replace Jodie Whittaker. She was one of the favourites to take on the role instead of Jodie, back in 2017. She squashed the rumours by tweeting: “Dr Who? Lol nah, I’m actually definitely not the next Dr Who.” Bur who’s to say she won’t be the chosen one this time?

I cant for a minute think that Richard Ayoade would do it, I just dont think the role interests him at all. Cant really see it being Michaela Coel either though, she does a lot, if not more, behind the camera and likes to have quite a lot of control and input over the things she is in..again, I cant see it being a role that would interest her. On that list of odds posted above, the one who I think would possibly take the role, at this point in their career, might be Kris Marshall.
 
I suppose John Barrowmen is a bit old, and burnt his bridge with Torchwood , but could have done it, met the brief

George Blagden ? even, Daniel Craig , where is he going.

No-one else cares either though, which is precisely why this programme is getting so much flak for using such pish as the main plot point for so many of the episodes.
It started when it was no longer a programme about Doctor Who and his assistant(s), but instead about the lives of the 'companions' of a now fairly clueless Timelord who sits in the background wibbling a bit while the 'companions' lead the adventures. The Doctor has become nothing more than a plot vehicle, creating stages upon which the "stupid apes" then wave their woke-willies in a ridiculously blatant manner.
