Doctor Who

He also wrote Jekyll, which was shown recently on BBC.
my wife has jekyll on dvd and its one of the best things to ever come from the bbc imo, great acting by james nesbit aswell i bet he would make a good drwho.

I have really enjoyed the series but I have to say the last 2 episodes when considered as one have been a massive anticlimax. The Library story and the midnight moon were up there with the stone angels and Peter Kay episodes. Donna was an annoying companion and I get the concept of the character just not Tate doing it.

Looking forward to cybermen at Christmas but a year off whilst Tennant does Shakespear might be tough to live with.

The Peter Kay eppisode has to be one of the worst thing I have seen on TV, im not sure how you can class it as good!

At first Donna wound me up something chronic, but as the series progressed I warmed to her. I liked her rapport with the Doctor tbh. I liked the way they bounced off each other.

So I'm a bit sad to see her go, however I think her character arc probably went as far as it could go. Martha and Rose I think were a bit more combatant and more self reliant there fore easier to bring back into one off episodes.

It will be interesting to see who the Doctor gets as his new companion.

I'm getting fed up with the writers "Killing off" the Darleks, Cybermen, Master, etc. They should just be a bit more blatant and have one skulk off in retreat something. Davaros should have been seen warping out of the ship, cause lets face it he will be back. I had no doubts we'd be seeing him in this new generation of Dr Who at some point and I have no doubts he will be back again.

With regards to Darleks Cybermen ect, I'd like to see all of or most of a series where they are featured heavily and the Dr is facing them or dealing with events caused by the Darleks rather than all the coincidences in previous episodes of the series being tied together as being caused by Darleks in the last episode.

Then, we should not see the Daleks for 2 series, at least. They are a good adversary for the Doctor, but they are over used imo and you no longer worry that he might lose to them. In fact in general has the Dr. lost yet? I've not seen him run away to fight another day yet.

That was a great episode and I really liked the twist as I wasn't expecting it at all. The whole DoctorDonna thing was brilliant and just watching Tate and Tennant immitate each other was good craic. Also, the Geraman Daleks cracked me up. Very sad ending though after all the happy endings for everyone else but I cannot wait until Cristmas, only another five months away.

In relation to next year, are there not going to be four specials next year as opposed to a proper season in order for Tennant to do his own thing or will there just be nothing at all next year?

I'd be inclined to agree that some elements were awful but cross linking of the Doctor into strangers lives and the bitter ending elevated it for me. It is so uncommon to get downbeat endings in popular entertainment (dreadful soaps aside) and is one of the things that sets Dr Who above its contemporaries in my mind.

I thought German Daleks was amusing too and I'd like to see the Doctor beaten in a more comprehensive way occasonally.

Hopefully the new assistant will be either Sally Sparrow, or the Doctor's daughter.

Both these fine young ladies are easy on the eyes, are interesting characters, and can actually act!

I also agree that we should see longer story-arcs, that the Doctor's main enemies shouldn't be 'completely wiped out' every time only to be resurrected at a whim, and that the Peter Kay "absorbaloff" episode sucked donkey balls.

I don't really know what to think of that ending... it wasn't what I was expecting, but at least it's a tad better than "rose looks into the timevortex and everything is solved" of S1.

Can't beat The Master and S3 though.

Worst reporting I've seen in years. See what he actually said - which is by all accounts the exact opposite. link

He is not a man to shy away from controversial comments, and says Tennant's eventual replacement should not be female. "I am often tempted to say yes to that to placate everyone but, while I think kids will not have a problem with [a female Doctor], I think fathers will have a problem with it because they will then imagine they will have to describe sex changes to their children.

"I think fathers can describe sex changes to their children and I think they should and it's part of the world, but I think it would simply introduce genitalia into family viewing. You're not talking about actresses or style, you're talking about genitalia, and a lot of parents would get embarrassed."

Tightknit bunch

Typically though, Davies can't help imagining Lesley Sharp or Judi Dench in the role, adding that he thinks Amy Winehouse would be "brilliant".

Worried about sex changes in sci-fi? Old news. ST:DS9 covered that about 15 years ago with the whole Kurzan/Jadzia Dax storyline.

However, in the broad scheme I agree. Female Doctor wouldn't work - especially not her. Not going to happen though so nothing to worry about.

why exactly do the darleks want to destroy the universe?

surely if theres nothing out there they will die too.

Well they said something along the lines of "we will be the only life forms in existence!" or words to that effect. So either it needs some analyzing to get it completely or RTD cocked it up.
