Been watching a few of the old episodes of late. Some of the stuff is REALLY good, Blink for examples was an absolute corker.

This last season has been a bit weak overall

The last few episodes in my opinion are some of the best of the series.

But seriously, isn't that what every fictional crackpot with delusions of grandeur wants? Either to control everything or destroy everything? Daleks have had a go at both.

Don't forget the Crucible was protected somehow, so they'd have plenty of matter right there.

The biggest problem though is that you're trying to apply logic to a vision that is inherently illogical.

not much though, an empire needs planets suns etc

I just always hate when people resort to the villain just wants to destroy everything.

The old daleks didn't want to wipe out the universe just other living things so they could have their empire.

Terry Nation created the Daleks as an allegory to the Nazis...the symbology is pretty clear in stories like "The Dalek Invasion of Earth" and "Genesis of the Daleks", among others.

Actually, in DOIE, the Daleks wanted to conquer the Earth, not destroy it...in fact I haven't seen a single episode where the Daleks destroy any planets. The closest they get is in "The Daleks Master Plan" trying to build a time\dimension collapsing weapon, and fail.

Remember though that these daleks were different in that Davros created them 'from a part of himself'. So, did they inherit a bit of Davros' obvious madness in the process?

Davros created a set of Daleks subservient to him, the 80s Dalek stories end with a battle between his Daleks and the Skaro ones.

thats what i mean old daleks wanted to conquer this lot where just going to destroy all the matter in the universe outside the crucible.

he's not in charge, the supreme dalek, seams to keep him as a prisoner.

Also after the 2 groups weren't most daleks killed by a plague and davros made a whole new set.

i doubt amy winehouse would ever be in drwho even if RTD wanted it, like there going to stick a drug addict in a show children watch especially one that looks like shes been smoking meth for a few years
