Does anybody add stuff to chips?

Isn't one of the dilemmas that vinegar in the chip shop is often adulterated and no longer real (tasty) malt vinegar ?

On a related topic .. does mashing tins of marrowfat peas produce an acceptable mushy pea? relation can't find any Harry Ramsden already mushed, apparently the best

From the recommendations here i bought some Chip Spice!

Looking at the instructions you have to cook the chips with the spice, is that right? I thought it was something you put on top of chips like salt and vinegar?

ahh the boaring chip .. the carb fest of delight ..coat with garlic and butter salt and thyme then oven cook ... or triple cook from fresh in duck, beef fat 110c 30 mins to soften .. oil up to 160c par fry oil up to 180c 3 mins serve .. cover with garlic butter salt and thyme..
A chip connoisseur has entered the chat.

I'm after one of those retro squeezy Tomato shaped ketchup dispensers and they seem to cost a fortune at the moment!

Lots of new ideas, must check out.

Satay sauce, warmed and either poured over or chips dunked in a bowl! :)

In many chips shops it's actually something called non brewed condiment and not vinegar.

I tend to have hash browns or potato wedges rather than chips, they are just more satisfying somehow.

But salt and vinegar-- enough vinegar to make your eyes melt for chips, or whatever chilli sauce i fancy at the time.

Although due to this thread I have now also bought the standard and hot chip spice... :D

full fat Chips the usual vinegar and sea salt or I make my own salt & pepper chips

With Fries I like fritessaus or Curry ketchup or sometimes Saxo salt and vinegar spray

Let me know what you think :)
Oh yes that is some nice stuff! Made a handful of chips in my air frier yesterday but wasn’t sure how much salt to use so I probably didn’t use enough. Either way they got seasoned well!

Also saw nandos peri peri salt in Iceland but the bottle was quite small and didn’t think it was worth it.
