Sack him now and appoint who
It was always going to be a poisoned chalice
Win and it was fergies team
Lose and get slated
Title winning squad inherited. Let's see
De gea decent gk
Rafael decent full back dodgy temperament
Vidic injury prone
Rio as above and way beyond best
Smalling not convinced he's a successor at cb
Jones yet to really feature at cb
Eva good but ageing
Evans probably best of the cbs looking to replace Rio and vidic
Carrick steady but negative creativity
Giggs shouldn't be playing
Cleverly impersonating a footballer
Young nothing needs saying
Valencia Can't cross or beat players anymore
Nani decent on a good day but not often enough
Rooney consistently good last year
RVP scored goals and had excellent season
Anderson crap consistently
Hernandez supersub
Welbeck tries but lacks finishing
Kagawa used out of position yet to see his best

The main reason we won last year was down to poor performances from our rivals

It's clear that the man is a latent genius and needs another season to show what he is capable of. :p

It is a difficult question...the easiest answer is that he should not have been appointed in the first place. They had a ready made, world class manager who had been touting for the job for a number of years just waiting to take the position in Mourinho. However that ship has sailed, at least for now and it is hard to think of another manager who would be both available and in the same category as Fergie or Mourinho that could be approached.

I suspect that Moyes will survive not getting into the CL this season as long as United sign this $1bn deal with Nike, but if he starts next season as he has done this one, or there is any hint that he simply cannot attract the kind of player United (and more importantly, The Glazers) want at the club then he will be one of the first casualties of the 2014/15 season. Equally if The Glazers feel that Moyes' style of football is harming the brand then he will go sooner rather than later.

would love to see him turn things around, I think he is a very good coach, however i'm in no way convince that he has the right backroom staff with the right mentality for a club of this size.

Moyes needs more time. There's too much impatience in modern football, and a willingness to lambast a newly appointed manager who doesn't get instant results at a "big" club.

Was that a poem?

this.

On the subject I'm torn. The results are a disgrace, I believe you need to give someone time and this was always going to be a difficult year but where do you draw the line? There has to be some kind of minimum performance standard with a role like that.

Was a shocking appointment to begin with, and the performance of the team says it all.

Should be dumped.

That's the thing isn't it most fans were prepared for a sticky season as following Fergie is a hiding to nothing job but I'd imagine most were expecting to come off worse in the odd game against the other top 4 sides with maybe the odd bad result against the rest.

Losing to Swansea, West Brom, Everton, Newcastle and Stoke all in the same season wasn't in the script :p

Now he's got Carrick, RVP and Rooney all fit and with Mata to add to the side the excuses have to stop if the results from here till May don't improve with them in the side he's never going to get anywhere.

Ferguson didn't take over a title winning team -_-

Indeed, an important point. The situation isn't really the same for several reasons.

Moyes needs more time. There's too much impatience in modern football, and a willingness to lambast a newly appointed manager who doesn't get instant results at a "big" club.

But he's made seemingly no effort to get us playing any 'style' of football. It's very strange. It's not as if the players don't know each other either, they did win the league comfortably last season...

This is what I don't like. We just look dreadful, and he's made no effort to change things up/use new tactics/etc.

Was that a poem?

:D

Neutral supporter - sack him, wrong man.

(based on the assumption he fails to qualify for the CL, I wouldn't take any action until the end of the season).

Does having a dislike for Man UTD count as neutral? :p

I think he was the wrong man all along but I am enjoying Man UTD being so mediocre, if only I could go back in time and rub it in to all those Man UTD supporting friends who gloated week in week out. :p

I voted in favour of sacking him as a rival supporter. As fun as it is to see a United struggling the league really needs as many strong teams as it can get, at the end of the day it's all about entertainment and having a load of top teams fighting for the title is more entertaining than what will probably in the next few weeks end up as a two horse race between Chelsea and City.

It's really no different to us Liverpool supporters wanting Hodgson out, only difference was the majority of rival supporters backed Hodgson because they thought he was good rather than because he tried to relegate us :p

Moyes hasn't started insulting Utd supporters, journos and all of Scandinavia yet.

Reasons why I think he will stay until mid-way through next season - he can surely use the below to fight his case:

  • We played poorly last year but RVP rescued us a lot of the time and also SAF knew each player well, they were his choices and suited his way of playing.
  • Scholes retired. Remember how **** we were when he retired the first time?
  • It's known that the squad is fairly poor without RVP/Rooney and both have been injured (will get back on that later).
  • All other top teams seem to have improved by buying more players, I'm sure he'll claim he didn't get much time to do so. Although the Fellani saga will be a black mark here.
  • Mata is a pretty significant signing, he's already having an impact. Sure we lost but his influence is massive.

Reasons why I'm swaying towards the idea that he needs to go:

  • Getting rid of the back room staff. Schoolboy error! Although, in hindsight, surely the owners/director of football/whoever should have stepped in if they could?
  • If the rumours about the training tactics are true then I think he needs to change them ASAP. A good manager listens, takes in what they see and adjusts. As a player, I would definitely shout if I wasn't comfortable with this and I would hope that the manager would listen. It does seem like this is responsible for the injuries that people are picking up.
  • Questionable tactics/subs.
  • Not playing Zaha.
  • Not playing Kagawa in his best position when Rooney was out.
  • If players are really in an uproar about things, such as when the team list is shown to them, and he has not reverted back to what they like, then he has to go. Same reasoning as point 2.

I think if it wasn't for Ferguson doing his "your job is to back your new manager" speech Moyes would be gone already or the fans would at least be unified in wanting him out. I think a lot of fans who are still supporting Moyes are doing so because they think it makes them a better supporter because they're still staying loyal towards Ferguson.

He really was the king of psychology. ;)

I know but that was one of the reasons we wanted him out not one of the reasons for rivals supporters thinking he deserved more time.

Our owners wanted a yes man to deflect attention away from them, United's owners wanted someone to continue where Fergie left off.

I will admit that I keep using SAF's speech as justification to myself to back Moyes.
