Does something need to be done about dogs?

Didn't a 6 year old shoot a teacher recently?
Yes and he had an "acute disability".

Sometime between 11:15 and 11:30 a.m., Zwerner reported to a school administrator that the 6-year-old child had threatened to beat up a classmate. The administrator took no action to check in with or remove the child, Toscano said.

An hour later at 12:30 p.m., another teacher told an administrator she had searched the child’s backpack for a weapon and found nothing, but believed the 6-year-old had put the gun in his pocket before heading outside for recess. The administrator allegedly dismissed the threat, saying the boy “has little pockets.”

Soon after 1 p.m., a third teacher told the administration that a child had tearfully confessed that his classmate showed him the gun at recess and threatened to shoot him if he told anyone, Toscano said.

Doesn't sound like a physical one if he's threatening to beat people up and walking around.

You said you stated several times you'd proposed a solution? Why backtrack on that - I'm keen to hear it, or if you could expand on it.

Now you're just being facetious, you obviously don't have anything constructive to say.
I don't really get his position tbh, its a peculiar one. He has a dog yet seems to be against having dogs.

There's a difference between proposing a solution and knowing the solution. A gulf infact.

Well ok - a proposal is good enough for me, I'd like to hear it :)

You clearly have nothing to offer other than old stats and no answers when questioned. So again, you're saying there's no problem so therefore you are happy for children to continue to die so you can own fluffy.

I mean, this is turning into a big strawman for several reasons, I never said "there's no problem" and I'm obviously not happy for "children to continue to die", you're just being flippant because you think you're a smarty man.

You also know that I'm concerned about some breeds such as the American Bully XL, problems around crossbreeding and people who just want to make monsters rather than pets or useful animals. So don't tell me I said "there's no problem" because there clearly are some problems and I've discussed them several times in this thread.

Except its not just 'monsters' that are the problem. Ref dog walker who was seemingly attacked by a freaking sausage dog, amongst others. And that's a grown and seemingly fit adult.

But how do you decide what breeds go and which ones live?

I've never claimed to have all the answers so quite frankly don't know.

Perhaps someone with access to the data could see if there's a trend with the hundreds of thousands of attacks every year.

Interesting dog fact I’ve just come across, the Cane Corso breed has around the same bite force as a lion or great white shark.

Cane Corsos (Italian Mastiff) have been around for years, (a friend of mine has one) they're quite popular in the US where they mutilate them (cropped ears, docked tails) which I'm glad is banned here.

They are gigantic, but overall - they don't really have much profile in attacking and killing people, there's been a couple in recent years - but no more than some of the other much smaller breeds.

I think one big difference is that the Mastiff breeds don't really have a very strong prey drive, so whilst they're massive - and yes they'll bite you in half if they wanted to - they're generally much more docile. In contrast to say something like a Belgian Malinous - which is much smaller, but have an insane prey drive - I'd be more worried about something like that, than I would a Molosser breed.

I bet they keep the burglars away though

'hundreds of thousands of attacks every year', please do link to that UK stat.
