Quite interestingly, I was on Bavaria 2 weeks ago and only 50 miles from Munich.. The world cup there was quite low key compared to the hype in England.

Trouble is the expectancy is so high in England that we get disappointed when the team either doesn't perform and/or win. This must spill into the minds of those participating and place unnecessary pressure on the team and therefore inhibit their performance.

I get excited about watching both club and country but all the hype and in particular all the footy adverts just get right on my nipples.

ASDA have a whole isle full of footie hype. The marketing is clever, apparently your not a true footie fan unless you are stuffing you face with Doritos with dips, can of Stella and have forty flags hanging out of your car for 6 weeks. What ever happened to just a bag of monkey nuts and rattle :D

yes. world cup fever annoys me. football, in general, annoys me. i don't get into football just because of the world cup...but i don't moan at people who do get into it, because it's their choice.

Exactly how I feel. This happens quite rarely and is intense for a month or so and then dissappears as opposed to soaps etc which fill the TV listings day after flipping day.

I now know why I don't own a TV. :p

I am on the same opinion on this one. But sometimes I may watch some club football if good teams were playing.

hehe thats just the riot police dealing with the hippies who protest...they werent any riot police out last night, just normal coppers..trouble never kicks off around football games so theyre not needed.

I hate football and all the hype that gets shoved in my face at the best of time .. it's a hundred times worse and getting right on my boobies !

The sooner this crap is over and done with the better

Pffft women...get back in the kitchen is what ive been telling gf:p...mind you shes going back to nyc next monday...yippeee \o/...means i can watch the games in peace and quiet without having her nagging me to go out lol:p.

Mind you once the WC is over im going to miss her....hehe but then im off for a couple of months to stay with her...to make up for not givin her any attention since the WC started:p

Don't mind him watching the footy at all and he's certainly not paying me any less attention just because the footy is on ;)
