Does this sound right (xfx rma)

What utter scum.

xfx & scan = block list.

So basically you have a 12 month warranty from the supplier and also an additional twleve month warranty from the manufacturer ?

You have purchased goods from a supplier whom offer a 12 month warranty with the goods plus any further additional warranty from the manufacturer.
The goods are defective within the twelve month warranty and the supplier has confirmed the goods are defective.

Therefore, they should replace/repair/ offer a full refund at the original price. It must be that easy.

It surely musn't matter how long you've had use out of the goods when a fault occurs whilst under warranty, BECAUSE IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY .... THAT IS THE FREAKING POINT.

Then you have the attitude of the manufacturer which is alomst as bad as the supplier. There is zero reason why the manufacturer can't intervene and replace you with an equivalent model as their goods are defective under warranty.

You guys can't let this go.

The supplier and manufacturer are not fulfilling their warranty.

You know what's funny? We pay way over the odds in this country because of EU regulations, that Ripoff Britain tax is supposed to translate into better warranty service. In America they pay half as much and get lifetime warranty, replacements and full refunds with no messing about.

We need a Red Team AIB to step up and offer that level of service in this country. ATI has been on top for how long now and we still only have dodgy bulk-sellers based in South-East Asia offering Radeons.

If I were you, I'd probably just take that refund now tbh mate and get one of those 4890's with it, god knows how long this could drag on for if you were to take them to a small claims court.

The 4890 will be a nice card to replace the 280 I should think.

And just avoid these Scammers like the plague in future!!!

Do not accept the money mate. Fight your corner!

Just had a look and they have XFX 280's in stock. Worst comes to the worst print the page showing stock and start a small claims. Add the XFX correspondence which mentions you do not have to accept the refund and should be offered a comparable product. I have mailed you the **** web page showing the card in stock.

I'm getting confused here, they HAVE XFX 280's in stock? If so what's their problem?????

Surely it's just a direct replacement.....

All my business is now done with OCUK as they seem to be the only retailer that actually cares about its customers.

All of the other big players in the computer hardware market are shocking for after sales support and service.

These SCAMmers should be stopped!

Scanning the retailer in question forums and seeing the thread by setter, the last post is this morning by a person in their technical/returns department stating "he has good news... hopefully."

So I hope that means they have came to their senses and setter will get an appropriate repalcement or refund without taking action.

Or they've added another £20 to the partial refund. :p

I've bought from this company before but having read this I'm thankful I've never had to return anything to them.

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure the point of a warranty is to offer a repair or replacement in the event of failure, so plucking an arbitrary part-refund figure out of the air seems well out of order.

Hope you get the result you want - stand your ground. :)

ive bought a few samsung hard drives from them, i put the serials in the samsung checker and they came up as invalid or something, makes me wonder where they got them from.

I enquired with them and they said the warranty was with them not samsung, hope they dont go wrong !

They have a nice little earner going on. All companies no doubt try it on in the hope that customers just accept not knowing what they are actually entitled to.

But they seem to be holding their ground on it. I can't believe the cheek!

I wouldn't buy any XFX product in the future because of the quality. I bought a GTX 275 from OCUK and when I received the card one of the DVI screw was snapped. I had a discussion with their customer support and obviously they tried to avoid my rights but eventually they were kind enough to give me a refund under the 7 days policy. Any company in the UK, you have the right, if your product is defective and has not reached the performance you were expecting within 1 years warranty (2 years with manufacturer, but this would vary depending on the product and how it has been advertised) then you are entitled to replace or have your money back.

If the company looks after the customers they will go back and buy more from them instead of trying to fob them off.

i used to buy from ocuk, stopped when i got a HDD delivered in a jiffy bag through my letter box (nice 3 ft drop), and changed to this supplier, bought everything bar the hazro screen and my ssd from them for years, and several other pcs ive built for people. Had to use customer service twice i think, some ram and a ram cooler that developed a fault. Always were quick to sort me out, but then they had stock of everything as it was all pretty new when it failed (3 months at most). Or it could be cause I have met some of their techs over the years and consider some of them friends...

Starting to buy more from elsewhere and ocuk again now though, purely from the number of bad stories that have cropped up about them. The best customer service I have had is from that "buyer" website. Everything that has broken, (4 gpus in a row) and other stuff up to 2-3 years after and they have arranged courier pick up and stuff instantly online for me, and then within 3 days of me reporting it ive always had a replacement appear.

I here very good things about OCUK now though, and they offer free postage so half the reason i didnt shop here, and shopped there (after i23 or w/e got me free postage) is a moot point.
