Dominoes Pizza

Little tip, get a Vegi Supreme and swap each of the toppings out for ones of your choice. You'll get a light topping of each but you can have a wider variety for no extra cost :) May not work online as I think they limit the number of toppings you can change? Certainly works on the system at work so no reason why it won't work elsewhere

online you can make 2 changes to the pizza, this doesnt mean swap as you can add 2 toppings for free, infact you can add 2 double toppings and then combine it with a deal :D

EDIT: just tried with other deals/single pizzas and they charge for adding toppings on single pizzas but some deals allow you to do it, its worth trying for extras when ordering

Would be tempted for a pizza delivered to the library now but:

A- haven't done enough work
B- Domino's will be closed and I CBA with any el cheapo takeaway
C- £10!

I've always found the sides at pizza places to be terrible. Worse than the chicken strippers you can buy in a supermarket.

/\ You're still paying a tenner for a pizza you could make yourself for around £3.

For ingredients, yes. But if the time it takes to prep and create it from scratch is worth >£7 to you then arguably you're better off ordering (quality of pizza aside).

Anything over 4 toppings and you should get charged extra but Domino's staff don't care, they are so far detached from the top of the company it makes no odds to them. Same as if you say you have a 50% off voucher, they just press a button on the till, only a guy on his first day is gonna challenge you about it, they soon stop caring.

It depends on how much you like your food tbh.

(Good) home made pizza is far far nicer than any takeaway and most rubbish restaurants such as Pizza Express.

Personally I think it's worth the 10-20 minutes or so of preparation to end up with a nicer product. If you don't really care about the quality of the food then I agree though, yeah.

edit: on re-reading your post I see you kind of covered that already. Oops. *grabs a coffee*

Just thought I would mention in case any of you work for the nhs like my gf. Domino's do 50% of if you tell them when ordering and show them ur nhs card when you pick it up. We have used it for years without fail. 2 medium pizzas for us comes to around £11 but we can't resist the double decadence base which jacks it up to around £14.

:D

It was just a counterpoint to the idea that buying takeaway pizza isn't worth the money. You're not just paying for raw ingredients of course. I'm sure a homemade pizza would probably be better quality, healthier and definitely fresher, but convenience, urgency and paying someone else to make it sometimes wins out.

Absolutely. I still purchase takeaway pizza at times (for exactly those reasons - I'm in a rush or I'm feeling extremely lazy). I nearly always regret it though :p

those huge square pizzas at snappy tomato look good! pitty they dont have a store in newcastle :(

£3? Maybe if you buy the ingredients from Lidl...
i doubt i could make a pizza for 3quid of decent size even if it was just plain cheese and tomato.

You have to buy a whole pack of each thing that you want on the pizza if you don't happen to have fresh.

its ok if you have stuff to use up, but if not then making your own can get very expensive

Just make the dough in the bread maker. No rolling pin needed, it comes out the right consistency to stretch it to about the right size/shape to go on the pan.

I have a Panasonic SD-256. I'd probably not have bought one originally, but it jumped out when it was on offer about half price) in my local supermarket. Now I have it, i'd definitely replace it with another if it ever broke.

Dough needs these ingredients (to make 2 bases) and takes 45 mins. Ideally you then need about another 45 mins after stretching it out for it to prove.

Yeast 1⁄2 tsp
Strong White Flour 300 g (11 oz)
Olive Oil 1tbsp
Salt 1tsp
Water 170 ml

Do you use a pizza stone to cook it in the oven? I got one a few months back as a present but have never bothered to try it yet. Wonder if i'm missing out?
