Dominoes Pizza

It's really not that expensive to make an individual pizza. Yes, you may need to buy packets of the various ingredients...but then that gives you enough to make several pizzas.

yes we all know home-made pizzas are cheaper and taste better.

convenience [kuhn-veen-yuhns]

anything that saves or simplifies work, adds to one's ease or comfort, etc., as an appliance, utensil, or the like.

the word above is the major factor when ordering a pizza.

I might only want one pizza though, not 8

Ingredients don't go off particularly quickly.

Yup, welcome to several replies ago.

That's how it's meant to be, delivery is stupidly expensive.
And pizza cost sod all to make, so they are still making profit.

And you can change two toppings with no charge on most pizza options without issue. It's when you add more or make more changes you generally get charged.

Why do they send some good offers out in the new year, must resist.

Delivery is in no way stupidly expensive, pizza places have a standard price, to catch out people who are stupid and increase profit margins, and they have deals for anyone who can put half a minute of effort finding and you get decent value pizza.

Its marketing, make every pizza £8, no one feels like they are getting a deal, it doesn't "feel" cheap, make every pizza £16 and have a deal that is running for only this week make all the pizza's £8. Suddenly it looks like great value and you think you have to get one this week as the deal won't be on next week.

You're right, the deal won't be on next week, for a day, then a new deal for £9 is pizza and a bottle of coke, the week after its £7.50 but with only one possible topping, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc........ forever.

Pizzahut have had the 50% off £40 spend and £10 off £25 order running almost non stop for about 5 years now. The dominos deal is usually along the lines of £10 for any size any toppings in london, delivery, and £8 for collected. £16 is just the price they get the odd great profit on when people are too daft to use the "deals" page of their website.

they wouldn't last a week, and I wouldn't want pizza more than once a week tbh

If you have leftover stuff to use up then fair enough, but I can't see how making your own is much cheaper if you're opening up a pack of cured meat, rocket, mozzarella etc. It all adds up. Margaritas get boring

It's nice to make your own if you have the time and ingredients, sure. It's not particularly cheap though, unless you like it really plain.

I'd say they would last longer than a week but I get your point. I tend to have a lot of group meals so this isn't really an issue for me. I can imagine it's more of a problem when cooking for one though.

be nice if you could qualify that with some reasons why :)

personally ive not had them for quite a few months as the last couple of times it seemed a bit undercooked :(

Insanely expensive, ordered 2, came to about £24. and that was with a 20% off voucher or something.

Not much topping for price, but were nice.. but not as nice as my local.

My local = £5.70, large, delivered as much topping as you want.

Homemade pizza IS convenience food.

Instructions :

1) Chuck stuff you like on a bread base

2) Heat for 10 minutes.

3) Serve.

Of course home made base is nicer, but not essential if you're after speed over quality.
