Domino's Delivery

Of course I don't. Why the hell would I give someone a tip for doing the job they get paid to do?
So you don’t tip waiters in restaurants if there’s no service charge?

I tip:

Food delivery drivers
Waiters
Cabbies
Workmen if they’ve done a job particularly cheap
Barbers
Ladies who entertain in certain types of establishment

Because it's crap work. Riding a bike which is maintained to the lowest possible cost, often with broken bits, through rain, snow, hail, negative temperatures and under immense pressure. Take it from someone who's done it, it's a crap job ;)

My first job was in McDonald's and I'd wager that was a worse job than driving around delivering pizza, how many tips do you think I got during my time there? I've also never had my delivery on a bicycle, they all drive cars.

So you don’t tip waiters in restaurants if there’s no service charge?

If I feel they've earned it, there's a local place which is always busy but seems to have no more than 2 waiting staff yet they are always upbeat and maintain a reasonable level of service - they get a tip.

Again, they earn at least minimum wage for work which isn't hard under normal circumstances.

No, I don't tip anyone. Why the **** should I?

Just to add, I also dislike it when restaurants automatically add am 'optional service charge' to the bill too. That really irks me, and the majority of times I ask for it to be removed.

No matter what fast food we have delivered we always give em a quid.

Ought to upgrade it to £2 to be honest as we having been giving that amount for about 20 years !!

Never tip. Same goes with taxis and barbers. Most the time the service isn't impressive enough to warrant it.

There seems to be a precedent of tipping no matter what

Yeah, tend to tip delivery of dominos.

Usually pay via app though, so it's only if I have spare change.
Normally give about £1.50, I tend to order for a specific time since the little un was born. So if it's late no tip.

The way this question divides opinion always amuses me, especially when I am considered tight by all my family and friends. But then I remembered at work no one eats dominoes as it's too expensive. Over £4 for a pizza? Crazy they say.

If people are that into throwing additional money at delivery drivers, I drive trucks to many high street retailers so have probably delivered stuff you guys have bought at some point. Fancy sending me some extra money via Paypal?

Mind it's always the little people who tip, when I had spell of delivery driving it was always the single mum types in one bedroom council bedsits that would tip. Never the £60 order 2 nights a week to the £500K detached house at the end of a private road, they would wait for the 50p change.
