yea dont count on it, ******* game crashing every few minutes....

and it seems like its a common issue from the post misjah linked....

going to try fixing over the weekend with updates and read a few threads but i'm going to be straight on the phone monday to MSI if this keeps happening... finally after months get the new laptop and it doesnt even ******* work properly....

so

i went from a 980m, performing well no crashes... i paid over the odds for an upgrade, and i have a piece of **** that keeps crashing now that clearly has issues from the number of posts on MSI forum about it.....

Oh my days, so sorry to hear about this.

Tropicola, can you call me / txt me tomorrow afternoon with an update if you don't fix or if there is any progress. . I will send update report to HQ overnight. As they are a few hours advance of us then I will ask then to jump all over it ASAP.

The more info you can get the better such as crash reports, it will be greatly appreciated.

lol misjah, i think it's because I text him XD

anyway thanks loki will update...

although it seems to have stopped crashing so no reports, but it glitches out gives me that message then resumes the game and repeats several times unplayable....

damm so sorry about your new machine, :( have you looked in event viewer to see what is causing the crash? what model/specs did you get?
 
kinda of a stupid question, but any word about the mxm upgrade kit for the new laptops? example, the new gt73vr 7re comes with 1 1070 card, but it has the open slot available for sli, will msi make an upgrade kit for this? i hope they do, but does anyone have any info about this?

i got the msi gt72vr 6re 1070/i7/16gb/128gb/2tb 17 inch etc.

I love your enthusiasm. I hope a kit is made available, but I suspect MSI may shy away from advertising such things...

sorry, most of what ive read about your machine, seems to be either the bios or the motherboard, apparently it might be an issue with power to the gpu , also ive read mixed results with people trying to switch from 120hz to 60hz, but not sure which display you got. sorry cant help much, have you tried rolling back the gpu driver? see if that might help?

yea i did a fresh driver install, with the MSI one, also tried the latest drivers.

turned off shadow play etc and wireless as i heard some issues with that but no change...

also i have just the standard ips display not 4k etc i can only seem to select 45hz or 75hz?

seems like power issue as the message says plug in the power... and the GPU drops to 0% then kicks back in.... didnt have this issue when i could use the GPU button but now i've lost that feature.

and im sure misjah i saw a seller advertising upgrades on 1070/1080 laptops ill check h/o

and yea misjah linked threads similar to my issue which are unresolved i think so i don't have much faith to as loki put it "msi jumping all over it" unless they mean stomping on the laptop, which at this point i'd considering helping them do....

I AM NOT WAITING 4 WEEKS FOR A RMA AND REPAIRED LAPTOP OR SOME BS

ITS CLEAR MANY OTHERS HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE AND YOU TOOK MY WORKING LAPTOP CHARGED ME MONEY AND GAVE ME A LAPTOP THAT DOESNT EVEN WORK PROPERLY!

i'm going to level here, one enjoyment i get out of this life is gaming its like a mini escape... i cant do that right now and its especially important right now as the day i received my laptop my gandma passed away suddenly, it would be really nice to take my head off that by playing some games with my guild of 40 people that have been waiting patiently for me for months to be able to lead the guild again.....

i know it seems sad, but im upset atm and this isn't ******* helping at all, im more angry than usual so forget the spelling/caps lock/rage please just SORT IT OUT

so far, ive found links from you and others that suggest all 1070 are affected

I've seen posts on the following

GT62VR
GT72VR
GT73VR Titan

they all have the 1070 where they complain it doesnt work, most got repairs to a variant of 1070 or a 1080 upgrade after several RMA i don't want to deal with this.

I'm sorry for your loss, I know its not easy, unfortunately you might have to wait another 2 to 3 weeks for another machine, im only guessing as it will take roughly 1 day for the shipping label and to repack and drop off to sorting office, about 2 to 3 days to get it sent to the repairs, about 48 to 5 business days for repairs i'm guessing, and another 3 to 5 days for it to be shipped back. again this is my rough estimate of how long it might take, if this is the case, then you should start asking MSI for compensation for the delay and loss of the machine, compensation should be a free upgrade or a reduced price, that would help make it better, but not sure if they will do it...

again i'm sorry for your loss, are you able to use the laptop for anything at all? does it do the same for movies/videos? minor less intensive games?

he SHOULD get some sort of fast track option for a new laptop to be posted straight away on the basis he may have to pay deposit but the deposit don't actually come off its just a holding payment so he get replacement faster then he ships off the dodgy laptop . there are a bucket load of complaints regarding the 1070 on msi forums .
