Doom 2016 was one of my unexpected game of years. Played it on xbone and thoroughly enjoyed it. Brilliant modern day tribute to a classic game/genre.

Really think those touting the original maps as amazing are eating some nostalgia pie though. You’ve also gotta realise it’s difficult to make an atmospheric corridor shooter in this day and age. If they came out and reproduced the original games maps, they’d get tortured. A lot of the D1 and D2 maps were bland corridors.

Last one i played is Doom 3 + add-on, didn't enjoy it

But after seeing this eternal , i think im going to have to buy Doom 4 and complete it ASAP to get Eternal

You can get it on disc from amazon for £12, but reading reviews on the site you still have to download about 40GB.

One of the best games in the last 20 years. The devs nailed it so so hard, and managed to make it feel like a proper heir to Hell on Earth.

Found the DOOM 1/2 in the game, that was fun and a bit of nostalgia
Doom 4 runs in ultra settings with no problem on my GTX 970 (im rather surprised on this to be honest)
wondering how Eternal will run
