Doom Eternal

This new Doom Eternal looks too bright and colourful. A lot of neon colours.

Exactly what sprung to mind when I watched the footage. I particularly liked the environmental lava + fire effects when the flamethrower was used. :)

Kind of Hellgate London vibe colour/brightness wise. I think my Q2 shots have more of a Doom vibe than this.

They really have ramped it up visuals/theme wise though.

As I said, I do prefer the dark, moody/heavy contrast effects created in Quake and also in the shots/work that you posted the other day. I like the new Doom we've seen so far, though I'd prefer a little more in the way of corridor/smaller rooms seen in, for example, Q1, rather than the heavy use of larger combat arenas (evident in Doom 2016).

Not a big fan of that arena to arena style - it is nice now and again but I find them a bit too unfocused somehow when chained together as the main part of the map.

It need to go back to Doom I / Doom II roots in my opinion. This bright crap looks like it was made for consoles rather than people playing a dark, gritty game on a 486 in a basement with the lights off

Havent watched the new trailers (assuming the ones above are new)

But if they insist on having extra life pickups and keeping the dash function in, doom
Will be dead to me.

To be fair a lot of this stuff was in the original lore that is there in some rough form behind the scenes of Doom and Quake, etc. even though it isn't very original Doom like.

"It's surprising that Bethesda would delay a AAA game's release to "to live up to our standards of speed and polish", given their track record of late -- or ever. Skyrim and Fallout 3 were awesome games, but rife with bugs and glitches, many of which persist to this day even though the game was be released and re-released 30+ times in less than 10 years.

I'm certain that id Software pushed for the delay over the objections of Bethesda, and Bethesda caved because they desperately need a smooth AAA game launch to try to salvage their reputation.
"

Wouldn't think they'd delay that long or miss the holiday season just because of a clash with another title.

Reason for the delay might not have come from id or Bethesda.
