Doom Eternal

Being a Doom 2 player the main thing that attracted me to was the 1v1 PVP it was nothing short of amazing.

I recall being p*ssed when the remake of Doom didn't include any PVP.

With Doom Eternal; PVP is mentioned, is anyone able to confirm please if this will support 1V1 player Death match.

Thanks

Put in a pre-order finally. I don't like pre-ordering things really but from all the footage I have seen and experience with Doom 2016 I fail to see a reason not to.

Me too. I've been playing through Doom 2016 again and it's still a great looking and playing game. Even better now I can run it in 4k.

I do hope they have maintained the link with Razer hardware. I quite like the changing of colour of the keyboard, mouse and mouse mat when your health is taking a hit or low.

How many games do that? I've noticed a few change the lights on my Alienware case but it's not something I look at whilst playing so don't really notice it.

There are some and they seem split over different types of hardware. My old g19 keyboard used to change colour in The Division but they changed to another keyboard brand for 2. Doom is the only game I own which does it for my hardware. There is a list of games but they are not ones I play.

They need to make some more Quake games! I even enjoyed Quake 4, which I think everybody else on the planet hated. Love me some Strogg/Borg.

Still haven't played Doom 2016 (is that what we're calling Doom 4?)

I still remember the brilliance of Quake 1. When it was hooked up to a 3DFX card... Well! :D

Doom 2016 (or 4) is a great fun especially if you're a fan of the original.

I liked Quake 4 in its own right, as a game I thought it was fairly decent, but not as a follow up to Quake 2 and the MP felt too much like a pale imitation of Quake 2/3 MP which begged the question why I'd play it over Quake 3.

It is a bit of a personal project for my own amusement but I'm working on a modification to Quake 2 (RTX version) at the moment with a bunch of new coop/singleplayer features and/or re-implementing cut features that didn't make release.

Agreed 100%. I played Q4 multiplayer quite a bit and it was fun. Not a patch on Q2 or Q3A though. There were some things about it I really liked...but it was so long ago I can't even remember what they were now :p I do remember some of the Q4 MP maps were great.

Actually playing Doom 2016 right now. I'm enjoying it, but I think I prefer Doom 3 overall. I know it seems silly describing Doom 2016 gameplay as "dated" when that's kinda the point, but Doom 3 felt more like an evolution of the genre as opposed to a homage. Doom 3 was genuinely scary at times and had tons of atmosphere. On the plus side, I can only game in small blasts these days, and 2016 is absolutely perfect for that!

DOOM Eternal can run up to a 1000fps!

Could become an dream game for reference point benchmarking.
Quite a smart move if you think about it, gives the game lots of exposure long after the release.

Getting close now... 13 days to go. :D

Then rip and tear until it is DONE.

I loved Quake 4 as well, thought the weapons were great and the enemies. It was miles b etter than Doom 3.

Really looking forward to Doom Eternal, hope its as long as they say it is as well, over 20 hours is awesome.

Another vote here for Q4 though I wasn't as keen on some of the enemies disappearing after they died. Very atmospheric at times though.
