I'm thankful my situation didn't result in this - hopefully you can get the repairs covered by his insurance (if it's even insured)

As well as the tread being missing so is something at the top corner of the image, empty bolt holes....
I'd be amazed if they put new tyres on it or even MOT it, would triple the value of the car
