can someone post some screenshots?

also i have ftp space of 10gigs unlimited bandwidth, unfortunatley speed is capped at 50k a second. dunno if i should get this file from someone and host it or not.

whats the total file size of this beta?
 
Im loving the ETQW community site forums, just browsing and seeing the countless kiddies whining about the BETA being on Fileplanet :D . Same old same old.

DO IT! DO IT NOW! i sooo need this, can't we set up a torrent and keep seeding? surely that'd be the most effective way?!?!?

your right a torrent would by far be the best way to spread this.

where can i get this beta from? would like to see what this megatexturing is all about since no one has posted a screenshot.

Because the only people involved in the private beta are under a NDA AFAIK and the public beta we are talking about hasnt started...

Im sure there was a link to a load of screenies that had been leaked within this thread though...

Looks like they've not even bothered to try to make the movement any different from quake 4 ffs. :rolleyes: I suppose even characters with heavy weapons are free to bounce around as well.

It's called quake wars? So, why wouldn't you expect some similiarity in the gameplay to that of quake? It basically makes it differnent type of play from similar MP games out there.

No, it makes it quake 4 + vehicles + bigger maps. With the trailers they released they essentially made people believe this was gonna be some kind of battlefield style game using the quake universe. I didn't see anyone bounding around the place in trailers plus with the detail they have in the character models it looked as if they were going for a more realistic kind of experience.

Nice to see after the way quake 4 essentially flopped that they still havn't got the message about their multiplayer gameplay needing seriously revamped from the ground up.

At the very least they need some kind of server variable to turn this antiquated gameplay off. Last i checked the game had vehicles, seems to me with the speed you can gain by strafejumping vehicles aren't even needed.

Considering the way he was bouncing around he's probably one of these people that turn everything down to virtually nothing because he thinks he's playing quake 3...oops he practically is.

True its for ids ever dwindling fanbase who are afraid to actually play a game that doesn't have the same gameplay as a game from 1997 or thereabouts.

Im still gonna participate in the beta just to see if theres some variable to turn that gayness off.

If that's what you choose to believe, fair enough :) I like both styles of play, it's nothing about being afraid of it. Of course there won't be a variable to turn it off, they are all part of the quake/ET skill set.
