DPD misread delivery instructions

That woman sounds like the b***h who has my parcel. She and her oh fly tip stuff when they have a car and tip is only a mile away. She has been warned many times by the housing association and the council about her fly tipping and her **** attitude. She needs to be evicted as residents living on the row of houses overlooking the fly tipped area are pretty annoyed with her and her attitude. She’s even stupid enough not to remove her details from a courier box!

Didn’t go round as mentioned in an earlier post today as I was at my parents car getting something from them - that a man who lives between me and her, had his parcel delivered to her yesterday with a different courier- think it was Evri. He went to her door and she denied about any parcels. Yet he showed me the delivery proof photo and could see her tattooed leg and wearing the same dressing gown.
I'd go round and covertly record the interaction if you think she will deny having it. That along with evidence of delivery is grounds for getting the old bill involved for theft.

If you don't ask, you won't know.

Update. Plucked up my courage and went to the b***h's address and rang on her doorbell. As she's the first floor flat - she opened a window and screamed at me to FO. I just said "you have a parcel for me and I have complained to DPD". She closed the window as soon as she told me to FO. The flats have several communal entrances which are shared between 2 flats - ground and first. Didn't want to film her with her history of ringing the police about me over nothing.. That b***h and her awful kids need evicting.

Just over a year ago, we had strong winds (like yesterday) and it blew the wheelie bins about. Her wheelie bin blew over and blocked the entry/exit to the parking area. I picked it up. Less than a week later, she screamed "don't you ever touch my bin again". Well I didn't want to damage my car or her bin as I would had to pay for that....

The company I bought from has raised this as a formal complaint against DPD. It can take 6 working days and therefore due to Xmas/NY the 6th working day - which includes today is 5th Jan.

Not in a rush for parcel as its an order of protein shake powders and something else. Got plenty at home - took advantage of the discount on website.

Sounds like a charming person - well done for clearing the hurdle of reluctance. :) The important thing is that you have made an attempt to retrieve the parcel so could get the ball rolling on a replacement.

Keeping everyone's parcels is clearly theft - the supplier probably won't do anything about it but I'd hope they would.

I'm surprised DPD didn't read the instructions - they've always been excellent for me and followed my requests when I wouldn't be in. Maybe agency staff given the time of year. Good luck!

For some unknown reason the DPD website won’t send out a password reset request. Other websites- you get that in seconds. It said don’t deliver to any neighbour esp X and Y. B***h lives at X - 6 doors away.

Wish she and her family would sod off.

At least she’s better than another b***h who I heard say she’s proud of her kids. Eldest son convicted of raping a woman in her 80s and stealing money and jewellery. He’s been given a 13 year sentence. Then twin daughters made my colleagues’ children hell at school. How can you be proud of your kids when they do this ?

Um, I'd probably look at moving if you're feeling like you're living in an episode of Jeremy Kyle.

Merry Christmas and good luck :)

If this isn’t some made up attention seeking thread, then I’m sure your neighbour has notified the courier company who will no doubt now be in contact with the police already, given there’s photographic evidence.

DPD have been the worst Courier for me. I've had enough of them:
Failing to pick up on time
Failing to deliver on time
And the last straw.. Wriggling out of compensation claim.

Its the only UK courier I will no longer use.

Did they film Top Boy and Shameless where you live?

Crazy, I have the polar opposite.
Our local drivers always wait for us to answer the door, they are either 15-30 mins early, bang on time or half way through the 2 hour window or at worst before the slot runs out, it's literally only ever been ONCE they've turned up half hour late due to an accident's traffic jams IIRC.
They even turned around half hour later after dropping off something that turned out to be DOA and picked it back up again for a same day RMA return, and the day after delivered the replacement!
I've ordered from different companies to arrive on the same day and they'll either 9/10 all come with the same delivery driver or at worst be hours apart.

FedEx however, have damaged stuff twice for me and not even waited for the door to be answered and ran off and drove off, twice in a row even when the first delivery was complained to arrive damaged/not signed for etc etc...

Then there's the obvious Yodel scumbags that leave anything on the doorstep and run off. even if your milimetres from the door to answer it, even if you go outside and say "can you please wait next time it could be valuable..." But I expect that from a trash company like that, that just hires random people from agencies with zero background checks...

The one that's surprised me the most this year is EVRI - usually HATE them, but they've been stella at timescales/collections and have even managed to deliver a monitor to someone 4 times due to them not being home, without breaking it... I took a gamble but I won haha!

RM however, shocking... But no surprises.

Do you live in a hectic big city/area?

I've had issues on delivery and issues on collection and issue in transit.

Collections waiting days (5 days) at the collection point. With the post office staff royally peed off with the backlog despite drivers coming and going.

Damage in transit they wiggled out of. I asked for 30 pounds compensation on a 300 pound item due to damage. Got a Nope.

Deliveries where they do the don't call but say they did to my buyers.

The company phone line telling me I could reject the delivery. But the driver saying I couldn't because I'd have to reject a unrelated parcel they were delivering on the day (caught in camera).

For the 10-20 deliveries I've had this year 1/4 have had issues. That One resulting in loss due to not compensating.

I'd say I spend 100-150 pounds a year on dpd as it was usually bigger high value items. No more. It'll be ups even if they are a little more expensive.

On flip side evri have been slow to collect sometimes. But it always arrives.

RM have been excellent. I've even had things arrive that I risked ordering on Tuesday 2nd class today. No damage to a parcel ever. And one loss (in 100s of parcels over last 3 years) was fully compensated.

Ups great too.

I'll never use DPD again. Ever.

I try now to stick to RM for small and UPS for big

The second class RM. Effectively send Monday night. Arrived Friday. During the Xmas rush.

And the dpd one that tipped me over the edge.
Damaged and very late.

Crazy, just sounds like luck of the draw based on your local depot/their staff...
RM are scum. I spoke to multiple postmen, 2 of which were friends, and they said basically if they cba they just take what they want for the day and the rest gets left on the shelf, I asked if there was a quota to meet parcel/letters wise, and they said nope it just gets added to the next day and so forth...

So if they're hungover and cba they just take a shorter day, also they had loads of randoms working I'd never seen before, and I was told they were all agency, I asked one of them about working for RM and they said they haven't done any form of checks/verified anything and basically just turn up on the first day and are entrusted with everything/access anywhere and go straight out an hour later...

So no wonder what we saw in those 2 undercover filmed episodes of Panorama showing all the thefts/leaving trolleys miles up the road unchained, slacking off, managers doing nothing about thefts, literally just walk into 2 of the biggest depots in the country, no one is even at the desk/ID's you even when you start, just given a high vis and asked for a first name, no ID... Just like down here...

This is why when I pay for next day, it'll 8/10 times arrive within 3 or more days and ironically 2nd class stuff will often turn up quicker, as it literally depends on what helmet is working that area/shift and what they cba to carry/if they're hanging/some blagger on agency who doesn't give a damn...

The best one I had recently, was they told me as the buyer and the seller both over the phone that, the plane couldn't take off due to bad weather with my RM next day delivery that I'd paid extra for... BUT IF I'd paid for the guaranteed by 1pm service 1 tier higher, that I would get it... So they have 2 planes then, 1 that isn't water/weatherproof and a special magic one that can fly through all weathers if you pay extra... RIIIIGHT....
I'm glad they got nailed what was it 5 billion not long ago for stuff like this...
