Dr. Disrespect permanently banned from Twitch

I was only half joking when I said about lockdown affecting me. I'm finding myself getting drawn into things like petty things I'd have no problem ignoring in normal times and behaving like someone I'm really not like normally, it's like I'm actively seeking confrontation which is the complete opposite of what I am like when I'm 'steady'. Eg, I'd have read through this thread and not commented other than to ask questions which I think I did early days to help understand stuff. I really crave to have the routine of work back into my life and cant wait to start my new job. For what it's worth I apologise for my posts today especially @Andybtsn and @.Lethal.
not something you see everyday on OcUK forums, someone with a genuine apology. i personally didn't see much particularly wrong with your posts but fair play to you.

I think mentioning a Poll has killed the thread ;)
That’s not a bad thing. I am not exactly a fan of celebrities (actors) let alone people who like to record while playing with themselves online. I would much prefer if celebs were scientists or people who do things to help advance humanity, but that is another conversation.

All that said, I have no issue with people showing keen interest in this guy. If it makes them happy, I don’t see the problem :D

Yes your right, there is no problem, i was just trolling, i still dont know who they are a talking about or even care. Last time i comment in this thread.

Can someone explain this, not directly related but general stream thing. I saw a clip of a streamer (forgot name) they were playing a game like pubg and a random player killed them. The streamer then started getting hysterical and screamed "stream sniping, banned!". I don't understand what happened.
Do they get special rights in games or was this just a weird one.

Buthurt streamer probably thought that someone playing against him was watching the stream on a second monitor so they knew where to kill him.

Most likely Dr Disrespect story I've heard is that he went to Mixer to get a big money offer, and then used that offer as leverage against Twitch to get a better deal whilst staying at Twitch. When Mixer shut down, Twitch used Disrespect's past indiscretions to activate a disrepute/family friendly clause and cancel the contract, thus saving them a lot of money. This would explain why it's being kept quiet, as it's all arguing about the contract and cancellation of it.

Any half intelligent streamer adds in some broadcast delay to prevent/minimise this happening.
I see this so often on the Apex Subreddit and Twitter streams. People moaning about Stream Sniping and how there's not a proper Streamer mode built in. IMO it comes with the territory of being a popular Streamer.

Any serious streamer should have stuff like OBS setup anyhow so they can mix in additional content and setup things like broadcast delay, etc.

The problem is this can mess up the chat engagement, a small delay of 10-20s really isn't going to be enough to stop it in some games and that can have an impact depending on the streamer's style/engagement level.

True will depend a lot game to game.

I don't get why stream snipers annoy streamers unless its a game like eve-online where your losing a lot if you die and don't just re-spawn. (pretty sure no one ever live streamed an eve fleet fight in nullsec without almost instantly getting told off or kicked from the alliance)

it;s probably one of the highlights of watching their stream for a lot of people.

seeing them get wrecked and angry acting like 15 year old kids throwing their ps1 controller across the room and being surprised when it eventually breaks, rather than acting like a grown man who realises it's their own fault for giving away Intel.

for most streamers their own enjoyment is not priority but the monies they can make.

it's obvious a lot of them play games because they are popular and people want to watch it, yea I'm sure it sucks to sit playing some game you don't enjoy but when your making such nice money you should probably just get on with it.

some are so rich now they never have to work another day in their life, they could start playing games they enjoy but instead it's like they are scared the lime light will shift to someone else.

I don't watch streams much any more but when I do I prefer the small guys with only a few hundred/thousand views, they usually are much more informative, much more engaging with the chat and often have much deeper knowledge of the game.

a few of the really old streamers I find really fun to watch, they usually have like 10-50 viewers but they have a lot to talk about, it's more like visiting a friend for a chat. often they are very open about their lives and have interesting stories to tell and they don't care about amassing a million followers

Could be worse. A mate of mine used to go into the most childish of rants and rages on the Playstation 2 and quite often used to launch the controller. Thing was, it was wired and never went further than the cable allowed. However, sometime later he went into one of his rages on the PS3 and the controller promptly disappeared through the living room window and into the street. He only did that the once though. After that he started to throw it at the settee across the room instead, and on occasion actually missed. Oh yeah, he was in his 30s when this happened.

Have to say though, the other two guys and I laughed so hard that we couldn't breath.

Can you actually chat on any of these popular streams? Seems like a spam fest from what I have seen.
