Dr. Disrespect permanently banned from Twitch

Can you actually chat on any of these popular streams? Seems like a spam fest from what I have seen.
that's what the streamers want because it encourages people to send donation messages instead.

go watch someone whos chat is constantly spammed with emojis etc like XQC

people literally paying anywhere up to hundreds of dollars to have their message read out on the stream by an artificial voice. (TTS = Text To Speech)

it's literally insane, I think the minimum on most channels is like 2-4 dollars for a TTS.
yet people will spend 100x that

YouTube has the exact same feature

I gave someone a bit? or something I got free with amazon prime. Got a shout out. Highlight of my life. Never watched any twitch since.
I think 1 bit is like £0.10 or so in value.

prime still gives you a free sub right? I think the streamer only gets half as much cash than they would from a regular sub though

I sympatise with streamers who sniped. It's like playing against cheaters constantly. Sure some streamers will over react and call sniper to every death but you don't know if these clips are the first time coolboy69 has killed them or the 17th.

Don't forget these guys can have very little job security. A LoL streamer got banned for saying idiots cause multiple twitch staff objectively heard the n-word. Search TF Blade idiots if you want the clip (not linking cause swearies).

So you should probably maximise income and grow your audience whilst you can. Therefore streaming a popular game that you enjoy is a win-win-win and the stream snipers can ruin it. Most of them are more angry at rhe devs for not adding very simple fixes whilst being very aware of how much streaming benefits their game. Took PUBG over 2 years to add a streamer mode that anonymisers streamers but in true pubg fashion it didn't help cause they showed up in the killfeed as #unknown so you knew a streamer was in game.

1 bit is 1 cent

A prime sub gets a regular streamer $2.50, same as a tier 1 sub.

Being a streamer is very stressful, I tried it for around 6-7 months. I was only streaming to an average of 12-15 people but you still feel a lot of pressure. I handle that sort of thing well but you still feel its presence.

There’s a huge amount of things you’re monitoring and micro managing to make a stream look professional. That was just at my level, let alone the level of some streams, like Guy’s, who’s spends tens of thousands of dollars to provide a quality product. Therefore I think it’s easy to see why being stream sniped can frustrate people if they’re already having e.g. a bad day. If you feel off it’s bad enough working and job, even more so if you have thousands of people watching you and passing judgement (I imagine)!

On topic - I enjoy Dr Disrespect as an entertainer and a character, amongst other broadcasters. I don’t actively watch anyone but might have them on in the background whilst doing other things.

I was surprised to see a British radio/broadcaster getting into twitch last night. Iain Lee with Katherine Boyle.

You've probably seen him on the Sky News morning and paper shows as well as Good Morning Britain stand-ins and Absolute Radio reading Wiki.

"On 2 June 2020, Lee announced that his contract at Talkradio was not renewed. On 10 July, the pair issued a press release confirming they had been signed by internet streaming service Twitch, and would re-launch the program on 20 July."

It's mainly an interactive talk phone in show without the professionalism and screened out problems. There were so many prank calls over Skype to his stream. One even said he wanted to kill his co-host.

It's frightening at times seeing what a cesspit most people are like and how they behave.

Limmy is the best well know twitch person IMO. His stuff is hilarious......

‘Jay’ from The Inbetweeners streams now. Absolutely gash at most of what he plays god love him but seems to making a bit of a living out of it now his acting career has come to a halt so fair play to him.

In Twitch news another big streamer has been banned. Although not permanently

Good apology IMO

Good apology? Are you for real? It was cringe watching it let alone it felt like a mockery parody. I have no idea who he is but it was beyond cringe.
