It’s about hour- hour and a half hours ferry ride. The one I went on from Ano Symi (main port NE o Symi island) stops at Panormitis Monastery (south west of Symi) for c30 mins. You can get ferries to Symi from Rhodes Town, which where I stayed. Plus they are small ferries carrying cars and light vans for supplies to the island.
 
Turkey is just a stone's throw away. Some cheap plastic surgery, a couple of million of bitcoin in your pocket and ready to start a new life.

However, this is General Discussion where you'll come across flatearthers, frustrated authors with a mind full of plots and people with internet access in prison.

After this length of time and on such a small island it does seem likely he's either actually dead or doing a Reggie Perrin.
 
sounds like he u-turned from bus stop and headed back to home/wife;
must be enough publicity, otherwise, for any locals/bus-passengers, to have identified him - Mr Occam.
