Drag me to hell

This is how horror films should be made, Sam Raimi knows exactly how to push the right buttons.

Its jumpy, gross and funny in just the right proportions. It finishes how you think it should finish, Raimi has never been one for twists.. he's all about the entertainment.

I think there is a trend in the last few years that people like to hate most films that are new. Sad really.

It could be that, or it could be that people react negatively (they are let down) when they go see a mediocre film after reading a hundred misleading reviews that state that it pushes the right buttons, that it's the best horror film for years etc. All imo ofc. We do pretty much get over hyped every time a horror film comes along.

I think the problem with that is the overinflated claims. The need in the media to have bombastic definitive statements. When in reality all they are is opinions and yet you get people believing them to be true and even arguing over them.

Good film i thought, ending is wayyy too predictable, but has some very jumpy bits in it, and squemish bits as well :p

Girlfriend nearly broke my hand :( :p

First off theres some really moronic stuff being said in this thread.

Anyways just got back from seeing this and i thought it was really good.

I don't no why people are calling it a horror comedy, other then a few laughs it was hardly a comedy, you wouldn't call bear grylls born survivor a survial comedy programme would you. I laugh at bits of it but does that make it a comedy? Peoples interpretation of the word comedy is way off the mark, there was bits that you laughed at so that now makes it a comedy? In that case you can call everything a comedy including the news and factual programmes.

The scares were great and genuine, lots of jumpy bits, some pretty minging bits that made me cringe (the old bag with her mouth round the womans chin?).

You could kinda guess the ending abit, but i didn't predict it so much probably just cause i was engrossed in the film and enjoying it.

One of the better horror films in a few years.

p.s - the above is my opinion don't take this as gospel as some of you take reviews and don't realise this is one persons opinion.

i laughed more than i jumped. it might have been horror by choice but imo it was not a horror film.

and i wont call your post moronic just becuase i dont agree with it.

Have you just started going to the cinema? :p

Nope I'd say I've been over 700/800 times....

Talking goat anyone?

How anyone can say this isn't a horror comedy is in itself comical. Were you listening to the Dialogue? I.e The cake she baked upon visiting the in laws

The nose bleed that went everywhere?

The possessed breakdancing guy?

what a load of tosh aha! 800 times ?

say an average ticket price is £5.50 that means you have spent £4400 pounds on tickets alone...come off it.

Think you should have just did a few sums :)

Assuming Gustov is a film fan who goes to the cinema just once a week, for the past 15 years. Add a few varables and you've still got your 800 visits.

Just watched the trailer for this (on the My bloody Valentine disc) and it looked truly awful. The whole thing in the office looked like it had been taken from a TROMA movie (yeah that bad)

Thanks to the above poster for making the other two look like imbeciles...

I have a card in which I pay £11 a month and i can go as often as I want. (cineworld)

I've held this card for the last 10 years.

As many people on here know I study Film at university and although its not compulsory, I try and watch as many films as possible :)

Got no chance of watching an English version of this since I'm stuck in France, so I decided to read the plot on Wikipedia. Thought it sounded utter gash to be honest. Hopefully it's better than it sounds.

I saw this film a week ago, and I enjoyed it more for the "cinematic experience". Certainly one of the more 'jumpy' films I've ever seen, and also the only film where I've heard people scream in the cinema. Not the most amazing plot in the world, but I still think the movie as a whole is enjoyable, and there are a few laugh out loud moments. I wouldn't go and see it again as I've seen all the jumpy bits etc, but I'd recommend it just to watch the once for a laugh.

Girlfriend nearly broke my arm too.
