Dragon Age Inquisition

What I don't understand is your attitude towards others enthusiasm towards this, take a chill pill and stop getting yourself worked up over nothing.

Maybe it's getting worked up over nothing. One thing is for damned sure though, EA will never stop making poor quality games if people keep buying them regardless of whether they're good or bad.

Mate I totally understand where you're coming from after buying DA2 but I've been following the progress with this game from the very start and I feel I'm able to make a more informed choice with this game, unlike DA 2 where I just bought it without looking at any reviews or game play footage at all.#

As for EA, I do believe they take a lot of flak, most of it well deserved but a lot of what they do well they don't get enough credit for.
I now prefer Origin over Steam and the customer service is infinitely better than Valve's customer service after my own personal experience, Mass Effect for me is one of my favourite games ever and with all the DLC which I picked up for pennies it plants it in my legendary section of games.
So yeah I feel like I can give them one more shot with this and it's well deserved in my eyes.

DA2 however is a turd and I do feel they have learnt from this.

AshenEdge, sorry buddy I saw your post a few pages back and forgot to reply, yup I got all the information that I needed thanks. I'm now officially hyped for this!

I know I'm going to be branded as a heretic, but here goes... I didn't think DA2 was that bad. Initially, I was very disappointed when comparing it to DA:O and that put me off playing it for a while, but when I came back to it, if you could get past Hawke's crappy voice acting, the story was decent and there was a lot of the DA:O charm in it.

Anyway, I've pre-ordered the DD version on the Mexico store and am looking forward to playing it.

I too enjoyed it for the story, the level design was ok, but a terrible lazy reuse of the map.

I agree, the map designs sucked. I think I would have been more annoyed had I of paid full price for it. I watched a U.S. stream prior to ordering it and didn't order it. Then I bought it a year later for a fraction of the price, so I feel content I got my monies worth.

I paid full retail for it, went against all the reviews (which, even at the time were praising it!) and pre ordered at full price based on my sheer satisfaction of DA:O... So, based on that, I'm not preordering this, but no doubt I'll buy on release date.

As far I can tell, this is a reboot of the games bioware is about to make.
They went back to their roots a bit more, bigger maps for exploring, story mode improved and a more tactical mode combat and a brand new game engine.

Visually it seems to kick every other games ass for immersion.
Music are also top notch.

Then having Varma doing this is pure awesome.

So ICEx21 was selling me on this game last night, and I have to say it does look good. My biggest concern, and don't shoot me here, was that I didn't get on with DA:O. Everything was great, except I hated having to pause every 2s during combat to control my characters so I just whacked it on easy and ploughed through for a while.

It looks like they have addressed this with realtime character switching, which sounds pretty sweeeeet. I don't mind pausing and adjusting during a boss fight for example, but I don't want to have to do it every time I run into your run of the mill road enemies. It just slowed the whole game down too much for me and I kept wishing I didn't have those 3 millstones around my neck and just went as a solo character.

I can't be alone in feeling that way about the combat in DA:O can I?

You didn't have to do that!

You could do that!

To play DA:O to it's full potential and make the combat awesome, you need to make use of the excellent companion tactics. You can easily just leave other characters to it then if you really want to.

The companion tactics were fantastic and you unlocked more slots as they leveled up. They allowed you to automate all their skills, item use etc based on a selected criteria, like using potions on <50% health or particular skills on ranged enemies etc.

This - I thought it worked very well indeed. I only ever used the pause tactics for boss fights.

Glad it's all sorted ICE:) welcome to the Hype train next stop Thedas!!!:D

Glad I'm not the only one:o:D I'm looking forward to seeing Hawk again:cool:

Random question but does anyone get the feeling we will be seeing a dragon age mmo at some point in the future.

I think they're watching how The Elder Scrolls is doing very closely.
Ultimately Dragon Age is very narratively driven though, something I really love about the series.
I think the multiplayer could fill this area very well, Dragon Age: Battlefield anyone:cool::D

Some things about DA:I I don't like that I posted earlier ie no manual atrributes,no magic healing, and now even mages spells been dumbed down,

I hope this game is not dumbed down but can't say I happy about mages skills being reduced.
