Dragon Age Inquisition

What would you all say is the best class to go? Fancy starting a new game with a different class.

Tbh, there isn't much variation. All classes really have abilities that do the same thing. I found dual-wielding rogue to be the least tedious, but they all get repetitive.

I'm playing mage atm and I'm really underwhelmed. The animations aren't great and get boring quickly.

The class system really took a hit in this game unfortunately... And the removal of weapon switching hasn't helped at all.

I'm enjoying mage, it gives me a bit more space to manage my party, but with the knight enchanter tree you get a spirit blade (crazy high damage) so you can still get stuck into melees.

The recent patch seems to make my game CTD every hour or so, and a bit hard to nail down when - sometimes when just travelled to a new area, occasionally when running around (Skyhold perhaps). Not changed anything and it had never CTD pre-patch.

Are the any new drivers other than the AMD beta one?

The new 14.12's, or Omega's, got released the past couple of days.

Reminder that Bioware released the hotfix patch very early in the morning that fixes the previous patch issues on the PC ,mine just updated via Origin,it was a 17mb hotfix patch.

I'm very happy with the WHQL 14.12s Omega drivers,if anybody is getting crashes I suggest try both DX11 and Mantle if they have a GCN card to see what's best for them in DA:I,also try reducing overclocks as well if any.

Last point always worth doing a "repair game" via Origin DA:I icon after the hotfix patch is installed to check all files are installed correctly.

Made a wee video of me getting my ass handed to me by a dragon. I did kill him straight afterwards, but I wasn't sure how many attempts it would take and this video was nearly 6GB! I discovered that spirit blade decimates their guard in about 4/5 hits after this round, as it seems to ignore armour (2k damage per hit!)

My hair is still very shiny. How do I know if I'm using the ultra shaders or if I'm on poverty spec?

Goes by what settings you choose, however did you use the command line hoftfix,if you did you are supposed to remove that before updating to the hotfix patch.

I would run "check for updates" on Origin via DA icon and close it after install and relaunch it again, repair is always worth trying.

Cheers, no I didn't use the command line so I'll just check for updates tonight. cheers. I made that video above last night so if that looks right to you then I'm all good.

Abandoned my Mage game because my save didn't import!

Honestly the buggiest game ever imo.

Did you start the game in the last couple of days? If so, then there was an issue with the DA Keep website which was sending the default world state even when selecting custom state from DAI. It's fixed now, but you will have to start again unfortunately.

It's nowhere near the buggiest game ever though; DAO still has more bugs in it than I have seen from DAI and that has been out five years and had numerous patches. The memory leak issue alone still makes DAA unplayable for me.
