Dragon Age: The Veilguard

I'm a bit mixed on the DA franchise.

Dragon Age Origins (2009) had an absolutely fantastic story, characters and lore but the gameplay combat and controls were terrible which ruined the game.

In Dragon Age 2 (2011) Bioware adressed a lot of these criticisms, but it was a really bad game - just a lot of short instanced quests and the game got panned.

As for Inquisition (2014) I've tried to play at least 5 times but just can't get into it for some reason, it's a pretty game but I end up stopping playing for something else, and it's been on my drive for years waiting for me to complete it.

Hoping Veilguard will turn out to be better.

Most PC games are not in gamepass, but since EA Play is part of gamepass, EA games are guaranteed to end up there, was my point. But yes in a year most games do get decent discounts, usually.

Could one not just sub to ea play for a month then at launch to avoid buying it?

Well when I said it I basically meant any kind of subscription a bit like how you need the more expensive Ubisoft one to play games on release
Ah ok, I added the Pro bit because, TBH, I almost forgot that it's a thing, so in my mind if it's that forgettable then others might have forgot about it too!

I loved the first game and the expansions. Hated the second, hated the third. Chances of me likeing this one?.. Not even going to bother. In fact I think its been well enough time since I played the first to do it all over again.

It just gets worse and worse...

No I did not say this made up BS, nor have I really even been very interested in the game or played any of them since the Dragon Age 2 demo, which was nearly 14 years ago.

I did see it was out soon when browsing CD Keys, and thought I would google reviews. Must be an embargo in place but one review leaked giving it 8.5/10

Dragon Age: The Veilguard may have hit a few big stumbles along its path to release, but ultimately manages to deliver an innovative and fully-realized take on the series' world, exploration, and combat. The role-playing aspect has taken a minor hit in the process, but the game still boasts one of the best casts its studio has ever created, an engaging plot, and answers to many long-held questions, in addition to the best battle system in BioWare history.

I don't have any "long-held questions" because I can't remember much about the original other than I killed Morrigan's witch mother in dragon form.

I bet that one reviewer has purple hair and a nose ring.

FYI because of the discourse I will say that this is up there for the most amount of time I've had with a title before it's release - which speaks to their confidence with it.

Dragon Age Origins was so awesome, why can't we have nice things :(

ah yes, the review of someone who is openly anti woke on their socials.

I'll wait for review from unbiased reviewers on either side of this ridiculous argument before considering it.
