Dragon Age: The Veilguard

No, he hasn't wasted his money, and only he can decide that, but time spent isn't the same as a good review. Otherwise his actual review wouldn't have been "prepare to be ordinarywhelmed" and "it's ok". See what I mean? there's a difference between usage and and that product beeing good.

I've bought loads of products over the years that were crap, that I nevertheless put up with, used, and got my money's worth out of. But they were not good products at all.
Granted only he can make that decision, He admitted to doing that with Wukong.

Made me chuckle..

Yeah exactly, you feel like you haven't wasted your money because you got some usage from your purchase, that's not the same as it being a good game.

That’s exactly my point thanks. Nowhere did I say it was good. It’s mediocre and I am getting some enjoyment from it, ergo my money is not wasted. No need to read anymore than that.

AAA gaming is clown show right now, no wonder people are laughing.
Any Mediocre game that has a big budget is AAA don't you know.

I wonder how much dev work got replaced by AI behind the scenes, and the rest is just clowns with minimal experience

Lighten up Monty, it's just a bit of fun :)
Forgive my bad mood when all I'm seeing are the same few people going into similar threads and not really adding anything to the conversations but jokes / memes etc and then claim they are here in good faith. It's obvious you aren't which is why I've called it out the way I have - as it's nothing that needs moderating - I'm not deleting posts that are not breaking forums rules and I'm letting it continue (because I don't believe in echo chambers).

I had a bit of fun before and got warned so...

Ah the joys of Dragon Age Veilguard

You have not tbh, please don't act like a victim. It was Grim5 who posted the video with swearing - unless you have an alt account?

It's really not - there's been some great AAA games, even as recently as this summer (Space Marine and Black Myth: Wukong) - it's really specific games people have a problem with. Lets use this game for example - it's a OK game, it's certain not half as bad as people make out. But the hate machine is in full swing and people are almost blinded by it - at least Neil gave it a go for a couple of hours.

I thought it was an amusing meme, and by the look of it so did others.
Now I'm the bad guy?, It's not like I made the game.
With the world as it is, I'd say we need a laugh where we can get one.
Edit
Yeah, fair point Monty, but as gamers this all getting a bit daft now, and to be fair, all we want is good games without the media BS and well, the rest is fairly obvious from the division the game has caused.

Hence why Indie companies and developers that focus on a niche genre are doing far better.

I've been having a blast in recent months with the indies. Games like vampire survivors, cult of lamb, hades 2, home safety hotline, dave the diver, Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. All of these were very fun, i bet much more fun than I'd have playing veilguard

Those two are you mentioned are AA with smaller budgets, the Wukong devs made mobile games prior to that, another example is Helldiver's 2 again small budget. They are succeeded despite humble resources.
The big players like Bioware like Ubisoft like Sony really are making it a clown show.

Aside from concord, what other recent Sony games do you think have been part of the clown show?
Because I see very positive reception to most of the games that get ported over to PC, albeit years later. In fact, I'd say they are one of the few who generally seem to release pretty decent games overall.

Peaked at 89k on Steam - I thought it would break 100k based on the trends of the last few evenings as Sunday is usually the busiest time, but not to be. I suspect a decline from here due to the negativity surrounding it from many sources....I can't see this recouping the dev costs based on those numbers at all.

So who wants a bet on when we'll see the first discount on it? I reckon mid December.

The standalone expansions are better stories than the main game, which is a bit bland.

Yeah the Witcher 3 story was utterly bland. The best parts were the side quests. I also often wondered why it was hailed as one of the best open world games, it felt just like any Ubisoft “far cry” type, “ooh look a question mark on the map” style of exploration. The expansions helped a lot with the poor story in the original. Loved the game though.
