Dragon Age: The Veilguard

From what I saw it was the left over live service elements that were one of the not good features of the game, such as loot upgrades. Seems EA always learn the wrong lessons.

I'd have to be paid to play it
I played a good few hours of it for effectively free, by nature of having briefly had that EA play sub, I legitimately wish I could get the time back. Too many people were running around yelling at others for calling a bag of poo out for what it was because they "hadn't played it" -- as though there wasn't more than enough data for people to decide without wasting money.

I came to the conclusion that if you'd never played a Dragon Age game and were entirely new to the franchise, it was a generic and poorly written waste of many hours or your life. If you are a fan of the older games it's utter garbage and EA should be paying you, which they apparently did given the press scores and statements.

I've not played it, but as a HUGE fan of DA:O, with some love (a lot, but it took time to recognise) for DA:2 and finally, the acceptance of the new direction but still a great game in it's own right, DA:I.

Taking those three titles and placing them along side this mess just highlights the absolute joke the game is. EA can **** off and do one.

DA2 has many flaws, but it also has some of the best characters in the franchise imo. Varrick at his best as a prime example, he's a husk in DA:V. A character and story driven RPG can be forgiven if other aspects are a touch janky, but not when the core elements of the series are garbage.
