Dragon Age: The Veilguard

I don't see the hatred towards a toggle for scars, nor the options for pronouns.

My characters for RPGs over the years have included, men and women, they've been tall/short, fat/thin, have/have not got boobs, have/have not got scars, different hair styles, different hair colours, different skin colours, I've been a lizard (harry!), I've been a Charr (big cat), I've been a plant, I've been evil (very rarely), I've been good, I've been all sorts of classes (wizard, thief, ranger, warriror, tank), and generally had a little back story in my head for my characters.

How I relate to my character varies, from playing what I would argue is a wannabe version of me in a fantasy world ala an isekai, to not relating in any way shape or form, and everything between.

I really don't see what all the fuss is about that allows people who want to play a specific character in a game. If you don't want that, then don't choose those options, it's not like they're the only options, nor are you forced to pick them.

Because normalising irreversible surgical treatment for psychological maladjustment to natural biological processes, like female puberty, is a very bad thing. So bad, in fact, that i consider anyone helping to do so to be a mortal enemy.

It is abundantly clear that Dragon Age: The Veilguard is political and ideological propaganda disguised as a video game and its primary objective does not appear to entertain customers or provide them with an escape or any kind of fun, but is to indoctrinate them with transgender ideology.

The game is clearly attempting to normalize this ideology by including “top surgery scars” in game as well as all the various other customization options that allow players to blur the lines between male and female.

Change your sources dude. This is almost as bad as when you went on your twitter rampage in the other thread.

Don't like it? Don't buy it but save us your broken ideological 'arguments' because you're just looking to be outraged at this point.

Did anyone consider it might be for survivors of breast cancer?

"Top Surgery" is a very specific reference to FtM transgender people who have their breasts removed, in some cases while very young. Many actually come to regret it from what I've seen, although I don't entrench myself into things one way or another and can provide no hard data.

Given the general direction of the game, and the themes we've seen elsewhere, I think many are afraid that the development focus is more on ideology than a good game.

Personally, I just think it looks like hot garbage. From an artistic, gameplay, and what I've experienced from the writing it's very poor for a long term high budget project from a AAA studio. The only reason I even bother checking is because I love oldschool Bioware, and DA:O was absolutely fantastic.

Are there any decent preview reviews out?. I watched a few and they all start by saying they hadn’t played the original, or only played 2 onwards etc

As a fan of origins (top 3 favourite games), and hated number 2. Inquisition was meh but serviceable.

Looking for previews from people who actually played original and liked it, and how this stacks up.

A lot of them are paid for good previews, I'd wait until either the reviews come out or Steam feedback.

Even if it turns out horrific, there's a chance mods may save it

Is there actually any evidence these are paid for or is it just hysterical speculation?
If there's one thing I love it's evidence.

The previews seem good so a little bit hyped, but yea I don’t trust them. It’s a shame you need to actually wait for proper reviews with BioWare these days.

Insanity that i have some hope, given BW’s track record over the last years. Hope they can right the ship, the gaming world is a better place with BioWare in it and doing well.

I've been looking at more footage of this game and I can't help but feel disappointed. I feel it's important to realise that the people that made Bioware great aren't there anymore. This is Dragon Age in name only.

If this game flops I have a feeling it may be the end for Bioware.
