Dremel Dream Machine!

Just a thought, not sure if it will actually make sense but anyway, if the top card that got liquid on the back of it still works and runs furmark fine, but the other 2 are not showing up despite not getting any liquid on them, is there any sort of possibility that the part of the first card which handles Crossfire has gone kaput, and thats why you're not seeing the other two device manager?

I'm not sure if thats even possible, but just a thought anyway :) The best way to check would be to remove the top card and just run the other two and see what happens?

Good luck with it anyhoo!

okay

really damn confused now !

put air coolers back on all 3 cards .. ran them all up one at a time and all work fine .. ran a few minutes furmark each time to be sure.

okay.. then ran 2 cards in crossfire, no problem

then ran ALL 3 - air cooled in trifire ... Ran furmark .. not a glitch !!

put the waterblocks back on .. was as 110% careful as possible..

installed the loops and topped her up ..

WooHOO ... got TWO cards ... TOP and BOTTOM ... the piggy in the middle is still being an ignorant ******* !

So where now ? I know they work (thank the lord !) but what have I done wrong in putting them back in ?

didn't knock anything .. couldn't see any contacts that were shorted on assembly

Just plain WEIRD !!

Really don't know what to suggest about the trifire being a funny git but I just seen on another mod how to remove the paint from corsair ram, I thought it was anodised but looks like they are painted.
Remove the red bits at the top, paint stripper applied with paint brush, wire brush to help get it off, paint wise I would do an ultra light coat of primer like 1 quick pass & do a light but thorough coat of colour of choice or leave bare metal, avoid metallic paint as it needs a coat of clear laquer.
It's what I would do personally if I had that ram & wanted a different colour.

you are AWESOME

thanks

will try this in a few weeks when back off holiday

Bandwidth exceeded OCD-OC :( Time to upgrade to Photobucket Pro!

I hear ya ! .. it'll be back online ina few days after payday I hope.

In better news, I stripped the rig out last night and re-applied the waterblock to the middle GPU..

all is well in the world now, only really a few niggles that make me believe something is still not quite right

Furmark runs perfect .. apart from the text and the graphs flicker .. the image of the dohnut is pixel perfect but the overlay flickers like crazy.
Also in furmark, I can't select MSAA mode ... weird

in games I expected to be able to slap on some more seetings .. I'm at max quality but in game (Metro 2033) I can only realistically apply AAA and 4xAF .. anything higher lags a bit.. it looks pretty but kills gameplay ..

I'm happy with the settings I'm at .. just thought it'd be better... maybe I blew something up?

other than that, it's back in the water loop and no leaks so far all looks good again

Cheers for all the support

:) Glad you got it sorted, asked AnG3L who I got the tip from if it was paint or anodise & it's neither, they are powder coated to my surprise, but still the method I said about is what he used for removing the colour so he can leave them as bare metal or colour them .

oKAY .. ! My Single LED in the bay res has morphed into a strobe !!

it flickers flashes and other funky stuff.. the annoying thing is .. it's on the same molex chain as all my Fans ... they all work fine ... so I can't see a problem

Unless .. can you run 6 x GT1450's off one Molex rail ?

I fried the fan controller in the last rebuild ... to be honest I could care less as the temps were never accurate and it (NZXT Sentry 2) was pretty pointless as I ran all the fans at full rpm anyways..

so .. any ideas ? do LEDs flicker before they fail ... strobe effect is 100% accurate description.

or should I change some fans onto another rail ?

A 4 pin 'molex' carries some 60W of 12v power so should be good for 100 GT 1450rpms (0.05A each) or about a thousand LEDs or a mixture of both.

How is the LED wired up? Do you have a resistor in series with the LED? What resistance is it? What colour is the LED?

It could also be a loose connection. LEDs that flicker don't usually last very long before they stop working. I had a chain of 10 x 10mm white LEDs that went one by one the flickering way, this was before I understood the real need for resistors and stuff.

I am SO not renaming it Project POM-POM ! ... but thanks .. I'm looking at this PC in a whole new way now lol

Lol! You know you could always just add some pom poms in there with some spot lighting.. least it would be themed then.

I think i'm seeing pom pom's in a whole new way now lol.
