Dremel Dream Machine!

Do you have an electronics store that sound like a holiday camp made popular in a BBC sitcom starring Ruth Madoc? They sell aerosol based IPA. Not cheap mind.

I dont think it does have castor oil in it, but im sure it would say on the bottle

Edit: just found some do have castor oil in them, it all depends which one you buy.

found IPA swabs from the pharmacy, worked a treat to clean it.

BUT

the main card that got dripped on (the top one) works ... even ran furmark

now the other 2 that were X-fired don't show in device manager ..

I stripped them all and cleaned and reapplied thermal paste etc..

so now I have no clue what to try

whats really weird is they show temps in GPU-z !¬

just don't show in device manager or in CCC ... Grrrrrr... back to the drawing board
..


I fixed the damn leak at least :P
 
i know its a PITA but the only thing i can think of is running each card on its own , just to rule out if theres a bad one.

as someone has already said, it may well be worth investing in those full cover plates with £1000 worth of gpu to look after.

...wish id remembered to fit a drain line :o

lol yup ... i did a certain amount of that when it was finished .. no denying it :P

but I usually clean up after meself ... this however is a vexing residue of some concern and no doubt !

I guess I have to strip it down again and see if I've shorted the cards with the waterblocks or somethin
 
With a reference 5870 you need to use the stock ati backplate, ek do their own in nickel or black finish, there is also a v2 backplate for version 2 cards. I used the nickel on mine. Did try to see if yours are reference or not.
