Driving sim help?

If you are looking to get really into it and are dedicated to learning how to drive the cars and get fast then iRacing is probably your best bet. its the most serious game I've ever played, its more of a hobby than a game at times :p Its the only other racing game where I've been able to have good clean racing with random people as well.

Have to agree.

The other sims are great as single player games or hotlaping, but unless you join a private online racing club then iRacing is the only place you'll get clean racing. All the other games online are full of idiots in public severs.

But be warned.

IRacing is difficult, requires patience and practice and can be relatively expensive compared to other sims.

But it is the best sim racing experience at the moment.

Well all i need is to get my setup up and running, Im pretty set on getting into it, bought the pc in the first place for games!!

g27 or GT2 or CSR wheels?

Clubsport Pedals v2?

Wheelstand pro

just need help on the wheel if everything else is approved?

get a DFGT before you spend a massive amount of money on something you might not get into

I got a DFGT. TBH its perfect. I can't think why I'd need anything more then this... Project Cars, F1 2012 and DiRT 3 all worked like a charm with it.

Even worked on my PS3 for GT5, which was a complete bonus all round really and you can get them on ebay for less then £50.

when looking at the reviews is it really just as good as the other that are an extra 40 quid? It just doesnt seem very realistic and not as highly rated as the Fanatec for realism,

I reckon i could get

GT2 - 150
Clubsport pedals v2 - 100
both second hand

and the wheelstand pro from wheelstand for 95 pounds

Let me know where you can get a set of Club Sport pedals V2 for £100 second hand and I'll buy two sets.

I watched a set on eBay last week and they went for £190 plus postage.

The DFGT is a fine wheel but the pedals are terrible IMO. If you can find a 2nd hand DFGT for around £50 then maybe get CSR Elites instead of clubsports to save a bit more cash.

I wouldn't compared it to the MOMOs - they never had 900 degree rotation. It's a rebadged Driving Force Pro. And because of the rotation I'd say the DFGT and DFP are like a cheap G25 in terms of wheel feel. However the pedals are the same across MOMO Racing, DFP and DFGT - all garbage. But that didn't stop me enjoying sim racing on them for over 10 years. :)

My bad, they are the v1, and is the csr wheel and pedals any good??

the pedals for the DFGT are perfectly fine.

Seriously get a DFGT second hand, if you find you do really like sim racing then upgrade the pedals.

Theres also a few simple mods you can do to the dfgt pedals to make them better

looking at the reviews id rather spend the extra on a gt3RS v2, payday is there to spend that little extra,

any one know anywhere to get second hand wheel and pedals from??
