Driving sim help?

I second this, my wheelstand is faultless (Apart from maybe the bar being placed right through the middle of your legs but with good adjustment it's not a problem for me).

well either this or the Omega Gt Stand,?
around the same price, but dont have the post in the middle,

any views??

GT Omega definitely. Don't own one myself, but have used a friends and they're fantastic. Solid as a rock and none of this uncomfortable pillar between the legs nonsense.

The pillar isn't a problem whatsoever based on 18 months of using a WheelStand Pro myself. I know a few other people with WSP's too and it's never cited as an issue.

The only time the centre post can become a problem on a wheel stand or race seat is if you want to heal/toe brake. Other than that I don't really see as it's a problem.

But if you have the choice (space and budget) then it's better not to have it, but not a deal breaker.

Thats nearly three times what the stand is and i can fit a rig yet not got the space, picked up a driving force gt for 65 quid, now just need a cheap set of good pedals,

Apart from the cLub sport v2 what else does the job ??

Depends what your budget is really but a decent set of pedals is every bit as important as the wheel.

I've got some Clubsport V2's on pre-order at the moment so can't offer any feedback on them yet. Currently I'm using the standard Fanatec CSR pedals with my CSR wheel and Wheelstand Pro. These pedals are the cheapest in the Fanatec line-up (about €80) but they are still miles better than the DFGT and 360 wireless wheel pedals I've owned in the past. Fully adjustable with much more resistance - a different league.

If you want a load-cell brake then the CSR Elite pedals are the cheapest option, but they are €150.

As far as I'm aware, Fanatec pedals work fine with Logitech wheels on the PC at least.

Id only be using it on the pc for the time being, and well id like them as cheap as possible really, maybe i can find some second hand soon

Fanatec pedals connect to via USB to a PC when you don't use them through a Fanatec wheel. Your PC will recognise them as a separate USB device if you don't use a Fanatec wheel.

i have the clubsport v2 pedals, to go with my t500rs

i wasn't impressed with the build quality. there was loads of slack in the pedal bearings and when i complained to fanatec about it i was told that was normal and necessary for proper pedal function

the loose bearings meant there was a bit of freeplay at the start of pedal movement before anything happened. i also detected a hint of lag compared to the thrustmaster pedals.
also i personally found the ergonomics of the thrustmaster pedals to be superior and there was zero play in the pedals which makes them work really smoothly (fanatec? you reading that?)

in the end i modded the pedals to reduce the slack in the bearings (still got a bit of slack in them) and also modded slightly to improve ergonomics (added rubber heal pad and made a new throttle pedal)

i now still use them in preference to the t500 pedals, but may reconsider if TM bring out the load cell brake mod for it.

i havent heard about the v2 having play issues? i thought the CSR had a tiny bit of play in them, but ive read that fanatec have improved manufacturing processes so maybe you got a bad set?

well here is the reply i got from them after i sent a vid showing the slack in the pedal

Hi Robert,

thank you for your email and video.

This little movement is absolutely within the tolerance. If the throttle wouldn´t have this movement, you would not be able to regulate the pedal smoothly.

Best Regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen

I will try to find the vid i sent them later

they aren't light touch pedals. and the bushes, whilst having slack in them, aren't as smooth moving as the t500rs pedals.
