Driving Test :S

mirrors once every 10 seconds if your traveling on a road at constant speed. And a hell of a lot generally. make sure they see, turn your head and make it obvious. Check your blind spots when pulling off. Remeber to signal when they ask you to pull over. I found it best to talk to my examiner before i got in the car, just general chit chat, so it was more casual and i was more relaxed.

Good Luck! it goes quickley!

I got told to check my mirrors every six seconds :p Just keep calm and think things through, dont let other drivers pressure you.

take it easy, and dont pay any attention to anything they mark on the sheet, its not always driving faults :p

make it stupidly obvious your checking your mirrors, dont be overly aggressive, but at the same time not overly cautious

chat to your examiner...if they arent so stuckup to ignore you, makes it far easier, some wont allow huge convos whilst driving, but minor chit chat in areas where its basically impossible for you to make any errors is fine (though that might just be because i got the chief examiner at the test centre for my test)

remember how you were taught to drive, you may hate things that seem like formalities and dont really affect the safety of your driving, but you will get minors for missing them out

think thats everything

As did I :D lol

Just dont make stupid mistakes, and pull out on people for fear of getting a minor for hesitation. Hopefully your test isnt during rush hour. Better to have a minor for hesitation than a major for pulling out infront of someone.

Dont hesitate at junctions and roundabouts and if you make mistakes try forget about them strait away

when i did my parallel park when i finished the maneuver i looked forward and there was about 2 bus lengths infront of me, only got a minor for it.

Good luck and be relaxed, my legs were shaking and I was done for speeding by 5mph cause I got distracted by the examiner. Just don't concentrate too much on the chatting :)

One of the key things most likely more important than mirrors or just as important, do NOT hesitate. Always show the examiner your confident and nothing scares you and that you can make progress, just drive normally and try not to make any mistakes. If you stall, well thats normal nothing wrong with that, just start the car back up and forget about it DON'T let it put you off. Be friendly and courtious towards the examiner remember its him/her that decides your fate, also try to keep talking to them or do whatever makes you relaxed be courtious to other drivers also this I feel helped me, my examiner was awesome he chatted a lot and kept me very calm. :D . All in all just try to enjoy it and have a good drive!.

try not to swear :D

I think I did. :D

I know I said 'oops, shouldn't have done that.' after stalling it, but carried on as if I hadn't rather than pannicing.
If you stall, ignore it, restart and carry on, you won't loose marks for it, I stalled about 3 times, and because of that thought I'd failed.

Make sure you use full use of the mirrors! I got a minor because I didn't make full use of them once...although I was sure I did...but was wise and didn't argue.

My tester tried to get me to have a casual conversation with him, but after me saying 'yeh the weather is nice' conversation stoped as I was more interested in paying attention to the road. :D

The tester asked me at the end 'So, how do you think you did?' to which I replied 'Umm, I failed?' and got 'Nope, you passed.' I was shocked, this bloke is meant to be the meanest insutrctor where I took my test, he was well nice.

InvG

I always worry what if I had to do my test again for what ever reason, but I think I'd sail through it aslong as I Ironed out the small bad habits I have picked up on, as the total road confidence is there now (after driving for 6 month's), which is what it is all about.

You think you had it bad..

I had some Scottish examiner who would not stop talking.

I don't care about your ****** holiday!

Hard enough trying to listen to people, but when you have to work out what they're trying to say it makes it pretty annoying.

In Stoke on Trent there is supposed to be this guy known as 'the mole'.

He fails anyone and everyone who drives with him, has fits in the car if you do something wrong and makes most people cry by the end of the test.:eek:
