Dont pull over on double yellow lines if the examiner asks you to pull over in a convenient place.

another similar one, dont turn into the wrong side of a one way street just because the examiner said take the next available left/right

In Stoke on Trent there is supposed to be this guy known as 'the mole'.

He fails anyone and everyone who drives with him, has fits in the car if you do something wrong and makes most people cry by the end of the test.:eek:

Yeah right, and the Senior Supervising ADI would have him out of there asap if it was true. Bet its got nothing to do with a few pupils who failed cos they were crap on the day and its all the DSA's fault again..... Ho Hum heard it all before......

I was in the left lane on a one way street, I was going left at the end of the road, and he marked me down for my lane position...I seem to remember there was a parked car in the road, which if I stayed in my lane then I'd have hit it..

Just pay attention to his instructions and stay calm. :)

Basically the best advice is to drive normally as per your instructor taught you. If you do that you will be fine. Try and ignore spurious 'helpful' advice from the old wives here ;)

I feel I got away lightly tbh lol.

5 minors and a new car...........well it was a corsa, same as what I had been driving before but a new one.

Just try and forget about him and don't think "he's monitoring everything I do".

Confidence is necessary but not too much of it. ;)

try and talk to your instructor.

i did this and he was a very nice fellow. dont talk when you are doing manouvers (sp) or anything major like that, just when you are driving along.

Oh and while chatting to one of the examiners when one of my pupils was out on test he made this comment. 'We dont fail anyone, they do it themselves' which if you think about it is true.....

Confidence is the main key to passing, or at least it definetly was for me and a lot of other people  , If your not confident you make silly mistakes.

Have a banana before the test.

did seem to help me.

My only advice is be confident but realisic, if you do fail it is likely to be someone elses fault and you havent seen the situation before and don't act accordingly. But don't worry just get another test booked ASAP

How? As a driver are you not supposed to be able to drive down any road wether or not you've been down it before? If you fail its your own fault for not being prepared enough or just plain not upto it in the day. Yes nerves can make a difference but thats upto the individual pupil to cope with. If they are too nervouse then maybe they were not quite ready. but please dont blame somebody else for cocking up on your test!

what i am saying is you won't have seen that many possible situations and as such you act wrongly as it has never come up on a lesson/drive.

Even with 1000 hours of lessons this could still happen.

But i passed first time so meh

Who said it all had to be lessons? You can always get private practice. Oh and if you are not capable of looking and planning ahead or asking yourself what if then you should not pass. Oh and as for passing first time so what? I'm an ADI so Meh to you too;) I'm obviously a much better driver......

Oh and please prove it btw, show me where on your license it states you passed first time...... :D
