Driving Test :S

Wheel spins went down well with my examiner ;) I thought i'd get marked down for being a little too quick off the mark but he said it was probably the best pass he'd seen that year. It wasn't till afterwards I realised it was only the 3rd week in February so probably not much t live up to  Either way confident safe driving will see you right :)

Coming from someone who only passed on the 3rd go :(

1 - Take your time, and take each thing as it comes. So if he ask you to pull over, just concentrate on that task at hand, don't worry about later or what just happened.

2 - If you did anything bad, don't SAY anything, don't go "oops" or "Sugar", he might not have noticed.

3 - Get comfortable before setting off, seat, mirror...etc

4 - MSM mirror, signal maneuver - and when moving off from stationary POSH - Prepare, Observation, Signal, Handbrake.

5 - If you made an error, deep breath and continue, it might only be a minor.

Generally just take your time, don't panic. Nerves is the biggest cause of fails, and prepare the car in time for junctions to make things easier for yourself.

Just try to drive normally. Pay particular attention to your observations for any reversing/pulling away..etc as this is probably the biggest fail area for learners. Apart from that, trying to remember everything you have been taught while remaining relaxed is probably the best way to pass.

[Yea, i passed 3rd time and may not be the best source of advice though]

I feel I got away lightly tbh lol.

5 minors and a new car...........well it was a corsa, same as what I had been driving before but a new one.

Just try and forget about him and don't think "he's monitoring everything I do".

Confidence is necessary but not too much of it. ;)

I got a new and different car on the day of my test! 5 minors and passed first time

Remeber to pretend to adjust your headrest when you get in the car, even if you move it up and then back down to where it was originaly. A friend got marked down for not adjusting/checking his.

In Stoke on Trent there is supposed to be this guy known as 'the mole'.

He fails anyone and everyone who drives with him, has fits in the car if you do something wrong and makes most people cry by the end of the test.:eek:

Dont say that :p

My mate failed twice with the same examiner before passing. He said his examiner was a total idiot. I hope i don't get him...

I did :o Still passed though
My instructor says i can get mad with myself but not with other drivers. Thats good as i get mad very easily.

Also, when asked to put in at a suitable location, only signal if there is someone to signal to as you will get a minor for inappropriate signalling. Silly i know.

not correct i dont believe, always signal when pulling in its when pulling off that you only signal if someone is there to signal to.

Guys, you're not going to believe this. My instructor just phoned up and told me that the driving test place in my local village is on strike tomorrow.... so i wont be able to do my test. F*ckers

Actually its you thats incorrect. If you check the DL25 (Driving examination report) the section for signals states they must be correct, NESCESARY and properly timed. So if you signal with no one benifiting then its a minor/serious error etc

So you signal to park if theres somebody behind, a pedestrian on the pavement near where you wish to park etc.

My instructor has always told me to only signal when pulling in and off only if there is someone to signal to. I asked her why cant I just signal all the time to be on the safe side, and she said it would be seen as inappropriate signaling
