DS to a DSi worth it?

Screen probably has a lower power consumption.

Yeah but the DSi doesn't last as long as the DS Lite. 1000 mAh (19 hours) on the Lite and 850 mAh (14 hours) in the DSi. Just thought they would chuck a 1000mAh in it. Seems like a cost cutting tactic to me.

EDIT - Just seen your ninja edit, the PSP 1000 has the same play time as the 2000 and 3000 though does it not? Even though it has a lesser mAh rating.

Also, how come America didn't get the White DS and got the Blue one and vice versa?

Ah didn't notice the playtime, the PSPs playtime has actually increased with each revision.

Does indeed look like cost cutting, rather funny considering how much the sodding thing costs. Ninty really are taking the urine with their pricing imo.

Traded in my Lite for the DSi yesterday, did a deal where you get £75 for trade-in against the DSi.

Overall it's much better system in my opinion, so far.

Would be nice to hear what you think of it coming straight from a DS Lite. I had a white DS Lite but sold it a year ago and bought a White DSI last friday, personally i am very happy with it so far and think it's great!

Playing through Phantom Hourglass at the moment, superb game that i didn't get to play last time around!

I picked up a DSi and so far am quite liking it. I think the camera and the sound manipulation is a bit of a gimmick, but when some games come out that make good use of the camera then the table will no doubt turn!

Has any game ever made good use of a camera? Besides the Eye Toy for the PS2 which wasn't bad.

But the 360 and PS3 both have official cameras and neither have had them used in any inovative way, other than folk showing their willies during uno matches.
Burnout isn't to bad with the takedown cams, but other than that, cameras are pretty much a failure in games.

Had a longer play around with it now.

The cameras aren't the best, but they will do the job for games and other things, some of the functions are pretty fun too. Not played with the sound things yet, due to not having an SD Card.

The shop is pretty cool too, though I haven't bought anything off it yet, only downloaded the browser. I did get 1000 free points though so I'll get something later I think. Anyone got any of the games on there yet?

I like it, and think I will play it much more than I ever did my Lite.

The Wii price is going up too :p

DS to DSi, yes. Just about.

DS Lite to DSi, no. I actually think it would be a downgrade. You get a small amount of extra screen, a crap camera, a web browser, but you lose the GBA compatibility, the ability to play the DS GH games, and have to pay at least £70 for the priviledge.

have you tried it? I might've thought the same but tried one for 2 days and thought otherwise - a nice upgrade.

The screen size is a noticable difference and their is less screen glare in light environments. The camera isn't that bad actually. Considering it's a gaming console and won't be used to take high quality photographs as people seem to have a decent camera per household anyway.

Personally I've never used the GBA slot (only for GH which I played for about 3 weeks and got bored because their was nothing more to do).

Overall it's a very nice piece of kit and worthy of an upgrade in my honest opinion. It's early day's just yet but the extra memory and cpu power gives it more potential. Also I don't think Activision is left totally out of the blue as they could still use the wireless to use any devices (A bit like the pedometer which is coming out I think uses the wireles)

I'm actually finding now I'm playing my DS more, for some reason it seems a more enjoyable experience.

I never used the game boy advanced slot either, and I have no interest in GBA games anyway.

I'm happy I did the deal now, was pondering whether or not it was worth it for a few hours before hand, but did it and it's good!

Only have two games though :(.

My sentiments exactly too - more enjoyable experience to top it l off as well. Ok it's hit less battery life but you get at least 9 hours and that's prob at max brightness CPU at most use too. Within the 9 hours I can plug it in - no problem at all. All the other things it has are a nice improvement .
