Dubstep thread

Each to their own at the end of the day, there is no place for people being elitest with music, I hate that... but I do generally prefer the deeper, more serious and musical sound. Most of the tunes posted by Robi are commonplace in a lot of sets I listen to. But sometimes, they are too subdued and steady and can feel boring.

Thus as said a bit of hyped up madness has it's place, but not circus records stuff for me really either :) Coki however... gwaaan lol

PS: it's all about the LD remix of 0800 dub ;)

Exactly.

I love all forms of dubstep as much as the next guy, but when Doctor P churns out the same song with a slightly higher pitched sound, boring doesn't even begin to describe it.

Remixing Tetris and seeing a load of young ravers going off their knackers to it at some rave (on youtube) is enough to say he has brought cheese-step to the masses lol

Does drumstep go in here or the d&b thread? Anyway nice one for the sun and a bit of a break from all the gritty stuff. Lovin' the 8 bit sounds :)

To quote American dubstep DJ Joe Nice:

If your tune sounds like a bunch of power tools at a Home Depot – that’s not bass, that’s not sub, therefore, it’s not dubstep!

Anyone liking the new Kryptic Minds album?

You need the last bit of the youtube video address, the bit after watch?v= thats just letters and numbers. Copy that and place in between these without the spaces before the Y.

Exactly, I listen to anything, well except Hardcore as that just doesn't sound good to me at all, but their is one simple rule, if you don't like the music then don't listen to it.

I like how people just posting in here to create fission between the "original" dub'ers and the new style. saying you don't like it is fine, but going above and beyond is just rich.

WAR FACE!

I've just got into dubstep, can anyone recommend some good tunes for me?

So far I've listened to Cragga - postman remix which is completely sick.

Ready or not dubstep remix and dizzee rascal bonkers remix

The problem I have with the new style of dubstep or "brostep" is that it goes against what made dubstep so good in the first place, the emphasis on the lowest frequencies - deep, heavy beats with sub-bass to vibrate your very soul!:D

It seems now it's a competition between producers to make the most "filthy" or "dirty" sounding track which consists of the most ear piercing synths and high frequency sounds they can cook up and the bassline is an after thought.

That's not to say I can't enjoy it. I can definitely have a good skank to the likes of 16bit, Bar9, Stenchman etc etc.
