Dubstep thread

Seems so...

That Volor Flex stuff is mega convincing, kinda a shame whoever they are have copied Burial's style, but as you say thats a great attempt at it! lol... if you didn't see the title you'd easily assume it's some new unheard Burial stuff.

I'll DL the album now :)

Joker, Roxsonix, Shotem B2B Smerf tonight at Digital Newcastle. Won a half day off this afternoon and a bottle of champagne so it's a brilliant way to start what will most likely be an awesome weekend :D

think i've posted it already but anyway, I agree with the above, new dubstep is **** in a nutshell, bar the song i just posted which was released last month :p. But all this singing etc etc is nonsense.

this is how dubstep should sound!

no vocals : deep basslane end of.

full version of the track in my previous post.

and yes, it was hard work to dig this one up.

It has gone pretty stale now... I've stopped listening to quite as much as it feels like wasted time almost! lol, gonna have to dig out more old stuff again.

I like that Addison Groove tune, not heard that before. Bit techno techno that is :)

I don't care about lamenting the old dubstep. Reminds me of people who didn't like nu-metal (I was one and overlooked all the good stuff) or who only listen to the first 4 Metallica albums.

Anyone listenned to the new Zardonic album? Reminds me of Prodigy's Jilted almost.

For fans of Burial I can recommend Volor Flex, pretty much a Burial tribute act but does a very good job of it.

The similarity is insane, but I've found this album to be a little less dark. Well worth a listen, although it's not as .. coherent as Untrue.

You need to keep an eye on your gain (track 3 nearly blew my speakers) and you run the mix for a little too long and you end up key clashing because of it. I can't DJ for toffee but that's my feedback anyway.

Yeah, a few people have been mentioning the gains, but they were all at normal level =/

And what do you mean by clashing? Thanks for the feedback mate :)

Might just be a dodgy copy of that one tune or something. At some points it feels like it's two songs playing at the same time which isn't what you really want, maybe pitch down the other song or don't run the mix for so long to avoid that.

Anyone who doesn't know, Skream and Benga are doing a radio show from 11PM-1AM every Friday, last nights one is on iplayer.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01fd0rk/Skream_and_Benga_Dismantles_History_of_Bass_track/

They play both original styles and some newer "brostep" tracks (I really hate that term) but mostly good. I found last nights one about 80/20 on stuff I liked and didn't.

Thanks for the link but Meh 128kbps - come on BBC - popular searches on youtube are suffixed by 720 or 1080p :) .... In my very short history with dubstep I'm realising one very important factor for enjoying these tunes.

Audio/equipment quality.

Without it forget even bothering to listen. Thought I'd listen via the Xonar and the Creative T20 and the T20s really sucked bad, even the headphone stage failed bad. Plugged in headphone amp and we're banging again.

It's still mostly ok, youtube is only about 192 max but I get your point. My entire collection is in 320 or higher.
