Dubstep thread

Yeah -so right on both counts. Check out Ben Howard - Every Kingdom. Dude is a talent no doubt (not dubstep BTW but brilliant songwriting).

I'm a fan of Ben, saw Kelly tweet about him so checked him out :D
Very much UK Jack Johnson (this is a good thing). If you like Ben & Jack, definitely check out Donovan Frankenreiter. (certainly not Dubstep though mind ;) )

I've only recently started listening to dubstep (or possibly bro-step whatever that is) and I quite like it. Can any of you recommend any decent albums?

So far I've heard Nero's 'Welcome Reality', 'Circus One presented by Fluxpavillion and Doctor P', 'UKF Dubstep 2011' and Chase & Status' 'No More Idols' and 'More Than a Lot' (not sure which genre those last two fall in to).

Chase and Status is Drum and Bass.

You could also try some of the older stuff to see if it's to your tastes:
Skream - Skream (Midnight Request Line, Blue Eyez, Dutch Flowerz)
Benga - Diary of an Afro Warrior (Zero M2, Night, Pleasure, 26 Basslines)
Burial - Burial
Kode9 - Memories of the Future
Starkey - Ephemeral Exhibits (A fantastic cross between Dubstep and Hiphop, brought from his roots in Philli)

Otherwise, if you're into the new bro-step kind of stuff (Personally, I can't even see how it's dubstep as it sounds absolutely nothing like the above albums):
Magnetic Man
Katy B
Rusko - Suppose he could be classed as Post-Dubstep now
Borgore
Skrillex

Could anyone point me in the direction of some heavy dubstep...ive got skirllex but its just not "heavy" enough for my liking...im into death metal etc, but have found myself drawn so dub-step, i just cant find anything heavy enough for my taste...i have angerfist, but im not sure thats exactly dub-step...but nearly there for how heavy i want :p

Bit random i know, but if anyone could point me in the right direction, t'would be appreciated :D

^ I don't think my THC levels will ever be high enough to do that :p

Seriously, that guy's awesome. It looks easy because all the movements are so slow and small but you must need to be so fit to dance like that.

Angerfist is hardcore/gabba and there is plenty of harder stuff in that genre than Angerfist. Being into metal you might stuff like 'Satronica & Unexist - **** The System'.

Getting closer to dubstep, you might like stuff by Technical Itch (Drum & Bass producer).

Think i just jizzed

I found this track too, it was playing on kerrang, im not really into dubstep on its own (i like bass/beats but most dubstep comes across as just random 'noise') but this feels like 'dubstep done right' :D who would have thought that rock/dubstep could ever be mixed :o

Thanks for the suggestions mate, have had a listen and they arent too bad...have had a look at some "dubcore / deathstep" ... found i like the whole actually cross over between metal and dubstep, like the KoRn album, and the following SlipKnot remix : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNEk4rE60Mg&feature=related <--- im loving this, shame youtube plays through stereo and i cant get my sub involved :(
