Dune (2020) - Denis Villeneuve

Despite saying last week I probably wouldn't watch the trailer, i'm absolutely starved of good sci fi at the moment so will probably crumble and watch it.

There is a rumour it might release with the first 10 minutes of the movie.

Quinns Idea's on youtube seems to substantiate that as he posted a video talking about what he saw yesterday.

 
There's no way I'm watching this at my poxy local cinema. I'll be sitting my stupid ass on a bus for 3 hours to London and 3 hours back again plus whatever length the film is. I did it for BR2049 and Avengers Infinity War. It will definitely be worth it. :p

No - we're just getting the trailer, all that stuff was just for people who booked these special event tickets. Marketing thing to make a few quid and generate hype. The trailer was supposed to come out tomorrow but apparently they brought it forward a day for whatever reason, so hopefully in 90mins time we get something new to keep us going till release.
 
Denis is very capable of making worlds come to life, and this should be no exception. The fact the story is written, it is just how he goes about realising certain parts of it.
The sets should be amazing, and the story we already know will be great, hopefully under his direction the cast can make a wonderful adaption.
 
Not the greatest trailer but does very little to shake my faith that the movie will be great, you learn not to trust them after a while. Prometheus had a great trailer and yet...

How the movie will handle the exposition worries me more so then anything.
 
Yes trailers are done by trailer people for gen pop audience consumption. Still, it looks like Denis' most accessible film (and given the requirement to succeed it needs to be) and the. cinematography. is .insaaaaane. I was a bit upset he didn't get Roger Deakins again but Greig Fraser looks like he's outdone his work on Rogue One (which had some of the best shots of any Star Wars movie).
