Dune: Part 2 (2024)

Liked the nod to all the chapter prefaces from the books Irulan published after the events of the book. There’s such an integral part of the series, little Frank musings disguised as his characters. Also like what appears to be a ‘cone of greyscale’ in the gladiator arena making everything black and white.

Alas I already know Denis is too shy to do the water of life it’s molecular-bodily-control psychedelic justice, but he can’t duck Alia!

Christ I hate modern trailers, what an absolute mess.

Fortunately I have faith after part 1 that the film will be good, despite that excretion of a trailer.

go on elaborate :p
Just the whole tragic formulaic 2020's trailer trope. The crescendo with cuts between some 'witty' dialogue and an ongoing action scene with big drum hits.

Could have been a trailer for a straight-to-streaming generic superhero bilge movie.

Yuck.

Agreed, even the trailer for the first movie wasn't particularly inspiring. It's a real art I think and can help sell a film so well when done right. One of the best examples that springs to mind was the Prometheus trailer. Literally the best thing about that movie, ironically...

I think they revealed quite a bit, emperor could have been left mysterious still. And we're not even in July yet and I feel this should have been the final trailer.

I know it's that much of a surprise between the books and previous adaptations, but honestly I feel they could have not made a certain characters survival a trailer point.

God, visually that looks absolutely stunning, I just hope Villeneuve can keep the story grounded enough to keep the film understandable given the limited amount of screentime, based on what happens in the books. I think he did a good job with doing that in the first film so I've got hopes he does it again here.

Still no Alia ????
Still no Navigators. Would seriously love a little space ship action
I'm still hoping they have some explanation of folding space, hopefully from Irulan's perspective?
Although its unnecessary for us with previous dune knowledge.
Chani extremely strong confident, questioning what's going on.. bit too much insight?
Everything else... Awesome!
