Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

I've got to the final quest and have given up on multiple tries to get past the second part where the child creature is about to scream. I'm not sure if I want to bother to complete it as the trial and error of falling on jumps randomly is annoying me.

Question is can I get back into the main game without completing the final quest or do I have to start a new character/new game to carry on.

I would like to take advantage of any interesting DLC in the future.

One of the most annoying parts of the game tbh. Walk up and silence the child - then camouflage using her corpse straight away before anything spawns, time it right and you won't be attacked at all (please mods - this is part of the game, no ban! no ban!)

camouflage makes that level pretty simple, if you can make the jumps.

I didn't have the camo skill at the end. I just ran like a maniac chucking firecrackers where the volatiles appeared. Took me 5/6 attempts though.

I started this again from the beginning with the latest update. I'm hoping the devs are going to keep adding more and more options on, rumoured driving mode in next update?

LAst mission i just ran too was way too easy

now hard mode is good.

9% in so far unlocked most of the safe houses. definitely harder to kill zombies my agility is much higher than my attack as a result.

finding alcohol is harder so no molli night time whoring yet.

health packs don't instant heal is the biggest change Guns still 1 shot kill rais men which is good becuase they should. A headshot is a headshot imo.

taking my time this time becuase some of the later missions won't be so easy to blast through on low levels

Overall i'm enjoying the challenge planning routes thinking about escapes if i get spotted at night.

Really enjoyed this game and just finished it last night. my biggest cause of death wasn't jumps or volatiles but those damn exploding zombie bombers :( forever running into the them and getting caught in their blast radius. infuriating buggers.

Looking forward to playing this in hard mode :D

Pleased at how well this runs (but i guess im trying it after all the optimization patches).
R9 290 fps is mostly 60 (vysnch on) all the time (30 at cutscenes) though it can drop to 40 on odd occasion. Still felt very smooth. Maxed out settings at 1080p.

Jumping slightly tricky with controller (due to my clumsiness not the controls :D) but game looks absolutely gorgeous.

Changed my mind on this game. It is really good. Not great, but really good. There is still lots I don't like but generally it is ignorable.

Tbh though, I had to cheat to the make it fun!

well seems second run through i've focussed on side missions so much that i have grap hook already only 15% in :) still at least i can hunt bolters now :)

I've defnitely avoided contact a lot more i've got a similar gap between attack and agility I had first run through just the opposite way round

chuffed with the game has to be one of the better ones i've played of late look forward to the nesxt patch :D

I think the game gets much better once you get to the second area, mainly because firstly, it has you go inside more, which is where the game works best, and secondly, the 'city' feel suits the subject a lot better.

Night-time is way too dangerous for me but unfortunately im only on like the 3rd side mission and it must be done at night....i hate the night :( dammit.....

I did sorta cheat a bit when i made a safe house up one of those mega tall transmitter things. I just waited (dynamic night/day ftw :D) at the top whilst all the nasties ran around the bottom. Then when it got to daylight switched on the electrics. I needed the survivor points because im losing quite a lot of them by dying all the time (ie levelling up agility and power fine but survivor nope)

I also need to run afterburner next time i play because after a long time playing my fps was a bit lower and some small stuttering which was weird. (latest patch as well)

find myself saving my good upgrades because they are wasted on weapons which degrade and become useless a tad quickly.

I seem to have done the same on my first play through. Enjoying the side missions more than the main story.

Finished the main story last night, had me hooked throughout and loved every minute of it.

Whats the best way to go back and finish off side missions, just load up a save? Its a shame it doesn't do have an option to carry on
