Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

This is one of the first games I have struggled to get 60fps constantly with on my R9 290 @1440p, it does look decent but I do think it is a fairly poor port.

Aside from at the start when the game didn't run great for anyone (regardless of AMD / Nvidia) the game has run very well for me, I don't think it ever drops below 60fps @ 1440p with 1x 290x. What kind of settings are you running?

Blame the terrible lack of driver support from AMD tbh.

Again game runs pretty well for me on 1x 290x - it would be nice to crank all of the settings up with 2 cards but hardly runs poor on 1. Are 970's performing any better?

Doesn't matter if I drop all settings to low it is still around 40-55fps, the reason is it isn't optimized for the CPU, first core is always 100% then the others are always under 50% :(

This game is one of the best games I have played over the last year.

Probably the best zombie game I have played also. The game is like Fall Out meets Mirror's Edge.

However, it could definetly do with some more patches. It's as crash tastic as Fall Out 3 was!

Not a single crash here in about 30 hours so far. Fallout was terrible for me, must have had one every few hours or so.

Have only completed about 25% of the story so far. Just enjoying exploring and doing side quests. Best game I have played for a while, I hope GTAV is to the same standard (or better!).

Just finished the main quest about 22hrs game play although still have some more stuff to do.
Going to do another play through soon.

Really enjoyed the game same as I did with Dead Island just seem like I could not put it down which is rare these days as most games I get bored with quickly.

I know its primarily a console game but seems to translate well apart from quick time events I hate those with a passion, especially the ending one :).
Other than the varied FPS performance it really feels like they have thought about the things PC users want and put some effort in so its not a straight copy from console.

My main annoyances were with the GFX so much stupid FX that just make things worse not better, I don't know why they think it is good to blur your vision, ridiculously bright glowing world, narrowing the FOV expanding the FOV, lens flare crap, tons of other effects that just make the game seem less real and more like a cartoon.
Luckily I managed to disable most of that nonsense with some editing of the game files which is a big plus that you can do that so easily.

I also found that just like dead island you can mod the weapons as most of the guns are so underpowered there is little point using them, also my favourite mod was extending the grappling hook so it fires of 100m away which makes for some hilarious moments if a little silly and makes some things too easy.

I love games that I can mod easily and there is plenty you can change in the files, so I can adjust them to my liking.

Overall a great game with to much stupid GFX junk :).

I've played for about 30hrs so far and completed all side quests I have found as well as 50% of story line.

I was over exaggerating a little regarding crashes, but in about 30 hours game play it's crashed about 4-5 times.

"Dying Light has stopped responding"

Still a lot more than it should.

57 hours I played total never crashed once and in that time I used 3 different GPUs lol

Same here, 54 hours played reported by steam and not a single crash. I played since release even before patches too. Technically this game is brilliant for me, looks stunning, runs great, plays perfectly...Techland are way underrated, to me this game is much more impressive than overhyped stuff like Order or Uncharted.

This is one of the few games that I was really itching to get back to while at work during the day lol. Played straight through the story as I was pretty caught up in it and now keep getting back in there every once in a while to do side quests and just beat up a bunch of zombies. Usually after I beat the story I delete the game until I do another run through so that says a lot for me :D

Ran great on one 290 (no xfire support yet) overclocked to 1100mhz at 1440p. I disable CA and turn FOV almost all the way up, View distance is 7 clicks up from the left, and everything else turned up with only the hbao+ and film grain turned off. Avg around 60fps with the lows being in the 50's. There was one scene in particular that seemed to knock me in the high 40's though....

Where they blow up the docs trailer and you're fighting in that fire covered area and explosions everywhere. Pretty awesome though

Other than that after the main optimization patch they did I have pretty good cpu usage. Not what it ultimately should be but for dx11 I can't complain.
