Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

So you guys have verdict on it being actually decent? If so then I will probs ignore those elsewhere complaining of performance bugs and such :p

About an hour in...

Already game of the year for me !! (So far lol) (Grey Goo is also surprisingly good, that takes number 2 spot)

Graphics / Sound / Atmosphere / Scope / World interaction are spot on. Genuinely surprised at how sleek this game is.

Stunning and Reem :D

Only Witcher 3 can top this imho..

Had an hour on it this morning before work. Had some terrible performance issues when I reached the outside.

Spent 10 minutes playing with the settings to see what was causing the issue. Seems the View Distance set to full was causing the framerate to drop as low as 40 FPS on my machine (970 SLI)

FYI MSI reports it is uing 3565MB VRAM on both cards.

Mine wont go in to full screen, any idea? I set it to on, it does nothing and when I go back in options it's set to off.

Doesn't the 970 plummet in performance when exceeding 3.5GB Vram?

I have noticed massive performance drops at 1080p yes. But I can't say for sure if the 970's are to blame for that. Not sure what else it could be.

Obviously I'm watching the 970 news very closely at the minute to see what NVIDIA and OcUK official word are on the false advertising of the cards.

After reading some of the performance issues, I can't make my mind up whether to keep the game or just sell the game key on the MM :D

It's stunning, well worth keeping the game. Some peeps need to learn to expect that the very latest game might not run maxed out lol. Especially when they are as good looking as this one.

Keep the game and enjoy. If you run into issue lower some settings. This is a game well worth playing imho.

Texture Quality

'it appears that there is no difference in quality between the two settings, and that High may merely be storing more textures in memory on suitably equipped GPUs. For example, running around an area on Medium resulted in a modicum of texture pop-in and VRAM usage of around 2GB. Repeating the test on High resulted in zero pop-in and VRAM usage that topped out at 3.3GB, though during longer gameplay sessions usage of nearly 4GB has been observed'.

View Distance

'View Distance has the largest impact on performance, reducing framerates by more than half at 1920x1080'.
