Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

It's stunning, well worth keeping the game. Some peeps need to learn to expect that the very latest game might not run maxed out lol. Especially when they are as good looking as this one.

Keep the game and enjoy. If you run into issue lower some settings. This is a game well worth playing imho.

I'll keep it then ;)

Tried disabling SLI still can't set it to fullscreen :(

Tried disabling all the monitors bar 1, tried each of the other two monitors to see if it's a g-sync thing... still no joy

The news article is dated 27/1/2015 tho

If you're about to play Dying Light, hold up for two seconds and ensure you have the Dying Light Game Ready drivers installed. They'll give you superior performance and have a ton of other goodies, too.

If you've got a SLI system, you'll want to subsequently open up GeForce Experience 2.2.2, click on the Preferences tab, and click 'Check For Updates' to download a brand new Dying Light SLI profile. With that you'll be good to go in Techland's zombieriffic action game, but should you wish to know more about Dying Light, its NVIDIA GameWorks graphics enhancements, or its performance, make sure you check out the GeForce.com Dying Light Graphics & Performance Guide for all the details.

Okay, I have kind of succumbed and am going to get this. However, anyone know if I would be better to get this on PS4 or PC?

i5 3570k @4ghz
Asus 7950
8gb ram

Just worried as to how it will run on my PC. Looking at a lot of reviews, twitch, youtube etc they all seem to have 970's or similar, not sure how my GPU will hold up. Cheers.

Anyone?

game is very average IMO, although only given it about 2 hours gameplay...graphically it's pretty unimpressive, not what I was expecting. Seems brown and washed out to me, consoles holding the PC's back once more.

And the big problem for me, it feels to much Dead Island.

Texture Quality

'it appears that there is no difference in quality between the two settings, and that High may merely be storing more textures in memory on suitably equipped GPUs. For example, running around an area on Medium resulted in a modicum of texture pop-in and VRAM usage of around 2GB. Repeating the test on High resulted in zero pop-in and VRAM usage that topped out at 3.3GB, though during longer gameplay sessions usage of nearly 4GB has been observed'.

View Distance

'View Distance has the largest impact on performance, reducing framerates by more than half at 1920x1080'.

Thank you for that :)

Looks like AA is broken in this. (maybe not all users though)

With the latest Nvidia Driver - 347.25 - with AA on ingame it causes the screen to look shimmery or shudder very slightly. Look at distant objects and you will see it, very bizarre. I havent uploaded a screenie as you need to see it in motion, I'll maybe record a vid and stick it on youtube.

Disable AA ingame and the effect goes away. There is an alternative, force FXAA in Nvidia Inspector and it works, just tried it. Or, if you want to experiment try using one of the many AA options in Nvidia Inspector but be prepared for trial and error results. I said FXAA as it works well and has a minimal impact on performance. Granted, its not the best AA but its better than no AA at all.

Also,

SLI seems to be borken for some also
, it causes a flickering effect similar to the issue some users had with Far Cry 4 where shadows would flicker. Most noticeable is the splatter blood texture on the camera after you are attacked or fighting a zombie. The blurred red blotches on your screen flicker like crazy. Disabling SLI cures this. Again, just tried myself and it does work.

If anyone else finds anything else, post it up. Im happy to be proved wrong if you dont suffer from the bugs I mentioned above.

Managed to get mine to work in full screen by doing the below
Ok mine seems to be working now...

I didn't have Oculus Rift software running, I removed the ! from this line
OculusEnabled()
Set the document to readme. I then loaded up the Oculus Software, set it to extended mode, loaded up the game and the game didn't load up on the Rift but in fullscreen mode on screen. I then unplugged the Rift again and it worked.
