Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

Brilliant, brilliant game and the Dev's deserve so much credit for not only continuously supporting the game with free stuff years after it's release but also making DLC that was worth the money, added something genuinely new but also tied into your existing game very well.

I very rarely have Day 1 purchases but DL2 would be one if nothing else to support these guys in an era of greed, contentless AAA games and grind fest garbage games.

While I totally agree, I will say that the grind in Dying Light is still monotonous. Once you hit level cap, you then end up working on the survivor level. However, the amount of XP required for each level increased quite drastically and renders it's playability just as bad as others. There is no end game content to truly avoid "grinding".

The new DLC however, should be seriously fun! I'm looking forward to trying Prison Heist, but the BR looks a little poor IMO. After sinking 220+ hours into the game, I'd only really play consistently if they had content with real sustenance.

how could you not get into such awesome atmospheric game (my own vids):

Me and a friend tried. We played Dead Island a fair bit well before this and whist Dying Light looks better and is no doubt a superior game it all just felt so samey. Maybe we were burned out with the genre by the time.

Well the second game has been revealed, going by the trailers they are adding lot more choices for player's actions this time around.

Been waiting for this for a long time that I forgot all about it. A very pleasant surprise. Hopefully it is as good or better than the first game which was very good.

Very excited for more Dying Light, and even more so with Chris Avellone on board. Here's just some of his CV, which should tell you that the RPG elements (player choices) and story, should be top notch;

Fallout 2 - Designer
Planescape: Torment - Lead designer, lead writer
Icewind Dale - Designer
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance - Senior designer
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords - Lead designer, lead writer
Neverwinter Nights 2 - Senior designer
Fallout: New Vegas - Writer, project lead on most of the DLC
FTL: Advanced Edition - Special quest writer
Wasteland 2 - Level design
Pillars of Eternity - Narrative design, additional writing
Tyranny - Original world and story design
Torment: Tides of Numenera - Writer
Prey - Writer
Divinity: Original Sin II - Additional narrative design

Well I only got round to playing the original game a month ago and finished it last week, with Following still needing playing.

Very impressed and great level or support for the game too so this is one developer I don't mind giving money to. Looking forward to this one as the original game felt a little limited and linear in terms of main story.

As as I saw the UV lighting in that MS video trailer I knew it'd be Dying Light. Seriously can't wait as the original is amongst the best zombie survival games I've ever played.

Just watched those trailers. This one looks like it has the potential to be a lot better. 2018 has been very poor so far for game releases, but things are certainly looking much better for Q4. By then Nvidia will have released 1180 :)

Hopefully this makes it for Q4 as no release date has been given it seems.

As a SP experience it was a solid 7/10. As a co-op experience with 3 mates it's probably the best co-op game I've played, utterly brilliant. Excited that they have avellone on board! Hopefully means the story side will be a big improvement.

I loved dying light 1 but only played around 10 hours due to being a massive whimp on the night time missions!

I had great fun with Dying Light - good fun with a mate as well.

My main issue was just how fiddly the bases were - the lifts in the first one, and the annoying one at the top of a building in the second. In reality, a small gripe - never actually stopped me putting a lot of hours into to it.

Fingers crossed the second is as good.

This looks stunning.

First one was good once you got past the weapons constantly breaking after every 2 hits and zombies taking about 10 hits to kill.....

Stunning graphics too.

lol...did you play like 10 mins or something? They were pretty solid once you worked through the ranks.

I didn't initially like it either and was pretty tough going at the start but once you unlock a few certain skills and start getting new weapons it really opens up.

I was a complete fuss though and completed the main game with only the bare minimum necessary playtime during the night :D

I loved the first one. Was terrifying running between things trying not to alert anything lurking. Was such great fun until we worked out you could kick things. Spent the next few hours kicking everything to death :D.

Look forward to a new instalment :).
