Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

Wohoo!

'Dying Light: Bad Blood' Is Techland's Take On Battle Royale.

A new game mode is coming to Dying Light. Techland is creating its own take on the popular battle royale mode with its “Bad Blood” standalone expansion.

The game starts with six players, all of whom enter a zombie-filled zone. As you wander through the area, you’ll have to scavenge for weapons. You’ll be competing against other players for survival, but there are times when you need to work together, too. Dangerous and powerful zombies roam about, and you’ll need to kill them as a team to obtain valuable blood samples.

The overall objective is to escape the area before nightfall, and the only way out is by an extraction helicopter. Before you can leave, you need to collect a specific amount of blood samples in order to board the chopper. The cumulative total of the group’s collected samples determines the number of seats available, which means that all six people can board. However, Techland says that “everyone pays for their seat individually” with the samples in their inventory. You can choose to kill more zombies and acquire more samples or simply take out your comrades and steal their collection. Alliances in “Bad Blood” are temporary, so be wary of the people you play with, even if they decide to help you.

Techland is still working on the expansion, but you can join in on the action now as part of the studio’s Global Playtest event. You can sign up for it on the game’s website, and the first batch of keys, which are redeemable on Steam, will arrive sometime in the next week. Additional participants can join on over the course of the next several weeks. Because it’s a standalone expansion, you don’t need to own the original Dying Light to play.

During this early access period, you can post videos and screenshots of gameplay, and Techland wants you to report any major bugs on its forum page. The final version of “Bad Blood” is expected to launch sometime in 2018, although the studio didn’t provide a specific release date.

it annoys me the media using that 'battle royale' tag.
it is absolutely nothing to do with BR whatsoever when you actually read the description! 6 people racing to complete objectives against each other in a zombie filled city...

so, nothing to do with BR at all then!

Another update today.

Dying Light’s Content Drop #2 – “Silencer”

Dying Light stealth has just been redefined!

Equip your pistols with the silencer and don’t worry about noise anymore. Now your gunshots won’t attract the enemies, which creates completely new stealth opportunities - especially at night.

How to get it:
  • Your character needs to be at least level 12;
  • Talk to the Quartermaster to get the blueprint;
  • Find required parts;
  • Craft one of the two pistols with the silencer attached;
  • Unleash your rage… silently!
Psst! Don’t forget that silencer-equipped pistols need a special kind of bullets, called the subsonic ammo. You have the best chance to find them in abandoned police vans.

New Features:
  • Added 2 new pistol blueprints featuring the silencer
  • Added subsonic ammunition for the silencer
  • Added a “What’s New” section in the main menu
General Fixes:
  • Fixed "The Clinic" quest crash on macOS
  • Minor gameplay fixes

Double Content Drop coming through now.

This month we’re going big on new, free content for Dying Light. Starting today with a double content drop featuring a brand new location, a fresh game mode, a fearsome new enemy and a community bounty.

Content Drop #4 takes players to Prison Island -- a brand new location to discover. This isolated fortress is home to Prison Heist, a fresh game mode where you must break into the armory as fast as you can -- either solo or with friends in co-op. The faster you break in, the better the rewards. This is a time-attack mode designed for seasons players, so come prepared!

Content Drop #5, also available now, brings Sgt. Deathrow -- a previously unknown Demolisher mutation -- to Old Town. He’s bigger, stronger, and more unpredictable, but killing him gives you a monster shot of experience points.

Today is also the start of a brand new community bounty. In the Harran Egg Hunt, chase the zombified Easter Bunny and collect the eggs to unlock the magnificent Easter Outfit. Check out the in-game What’s New menu or go to http://dyinglightgame.com/bounties for details. The bounty ends on April 3rd. Happy Easter!

Dying Light now includes Chinese language support.

We hope you will enjoy all the new content. Content Drop #6 will arrive later in April. And for now, we strongly recommend getting good at Prison Heist - it might come in handy soon...

Good Night. Good Luck.

-- Dying Light Team

Brilliant, brilliant game and the Dev's deserve so much credit for not only continuously supporting the game with free stuff years after it's release but also making DLC that was worth the money, added something genuinely new but also tied into your existing game very well.

I very rarely have Day 1 purchases but DL2 would be one if nothing else to support these guys in an era of greed, contentless AAA games and grind fest garbage games.
