i agree the original release was a good game and im going to start a new game soon for the Darkfog . you get an introduction to darkfog on the first landing..
im just in the middle of factorio at the moment whih is destroying my life and sanity it seems. but looking forward to starting this in he next few days for a change.
i have something like over 50hrs int he originally game and i was only about midway to 1/3rd of the way through.

After spending far, far too much time on , I was looking forward to checking out Dyson Sphere only to find out it‘s Windows only

Well, off work till the new year, so back at it.

Completely forgotten everything, which is nice in it's own way, but I'm back up to automated blue matrix.
Only had 1 little attack from the dark fog, Icarus was able to take them on, on his own.

So when does the ‘dark fog’ actually come and get you, spend a few hours messing around building units but don’t see any sign of ‘fog’ dark or otherwise

They start off with a small base on the starter plant which you can deal with using Icarus alone - I'm only on red matrix at the moment so haven't jumped into space yet but I know it gets tougher then. Will be on it over the holidays

Ok so I’m working from a saved game where I built 3 spheres, I presume they should just start taking over planets ?

Yeah, I'm addicted again, just research yellow matrix.

Playing around with the combat stuff. These signal towers are great, no need to have turrets all over the place now, that these things bring the bad guys to you like moths to a flame.

Picked this up and in the very early phase.
I just end up with sprawling messes of construction lines everywhere and every time I research a new thing I can build the mess gets worse.

Anyone else still playing this? It's become one of my favourite factory games. Got a save on the go that hit 90 hours and currently farming dark fog for the rare tech.

i need to come back to it, i missed a lot fo the updates including the Dark fog one. so not sure if i'll play with DF enabled or not at the moment

I'm struggling. I've built my first planet with red and blue and it's turning into a mess and I've not got the patience to go back and keep slogging at it. It feels more like a job than a game at times.

The start is the hardest, if you go to dyson sphere blueprints they have lots of blueprints you can use in game which really helps with factory building.
