Ebay screwing us again

I very very rarely use buy now as ebay robs you even more on that. I can accept that limiting postage to certain amount is fair and I'm all for that but why FREE postage on DVD's etc?

People bid higher if they don't have an over inflated postage charge to take in to consideration in my experience. I never said anything about paying over the odds anyway.

so If I sold a DVD for £1.50 + £1.40 p&p (for recorded) I would make £1.50 but under the new rules I would make 10p....

A lot of buyers fail to realise that P&P includes, the packaging, time taken to package, postal rates and cost to get to the PO. it might not cost much to get there but parking fees etc. it all adds up

Crikey, if the idiotic feedback changes and comission hike hadn't caused me to jack in my account several months ago, this would've. Giving eBay the finger was probably the wisest choice I've made this year.

Morons.

the problem is a lot of businesses (mine included) now rely on it as an extra income, especially in the current climate, if someone can come up with an alternative they will make a killing

Looks like a good idea to me.

Should help drive prices down in the long run as big sellers will have to fight to beat each other's TRUE prices.

This will stop sellers selling a game for £25 but charging £5 postage for 1st Class.

2) Ebay final fee
3) paypal fees
4) jiffy bag
5) post office postage

You increase the min selling price to compensate for it. That is ebays idea, all dvd sellers increase their selling prices to compensate so ebay make more profit from final value fees. Because everyone will increase their dvd prices you won't be put at a disadvantage and all the buyers will pay more for the dvd because of free postage.

Ebay will also make more profit on the listing fees this way as well

if you start it off at 99p you dont get charged as much

Sad thing is eBay will keep stiffing people until there is a bit of decent competition.....and then eBay/PayPal will probably just buy them up and jiff you some more :(

so thats an extra 5p out of pocket, they'll raise these soon as well
About 25p extra out of pocket on a DVD that won for £5

old ebay rules
DVD won for £5 with £2 p&p
Listing fee 10p (listing at 99p)
final fee = 49p

New ebay free deliverly rules
DVD won for £7
Listing fee = 15p (listing at £2.99)
Final fee = 0.69p

I fail to see your argument here,
1 - who pays £5 -£7 for a DVD + postage ? you'd probably nip to Zavvi or somewhere for free and pay the same amount
2 - you didnt deduct the £1.40 postage (average)
3 - I still to see why we should loose out on postage
